We always start by assessing the coat and the cat’s behaviour - this tells us how to approach the groom.

From there, everything is done gradually, allowing the cat to settle and feel comfortable.

You’ll notice we adjust our handling and pace throughout, depending on how the cat responds.

How to check your cat for matting.

Gently run your hands over areas like the tummy, armpits, and behind the legs.

If you feel tight knots, resistance, or thickened patches, this could be matting forming.

Catching it early can prevent discomfort and more extensive grooming.

Meet Lorelei, a domestic longhaired Tortie!

Her coat was long and thick so we decided on a Teddy Bear Cut.

This service includes a full groom as the coat needs to be fully brushed out matt free before clipping to a shorter length to give the Teddy Look. It takes a while and requires patience from your cat to complete, so this is not an option for all cats.
