☀️ HOT WEATHER & DOG WALKING ☀️
We’ve seen lots of posts recently about dogs not being walked above certain temperatures, so just wanted to explain our approach at Freedom Fields.
We do not automatically close the fields during hot weather because:
🐾 The fields are grassed areas, not pavements
🌳 We have shaded areas and shelters available
🐶 Some dogs, including behavioural dogs and banned breeds, still need safe exercise away from busy public spaces
Instead, we leave it to owners’ discretion, as you know your dog best.
Some customers this week have booked a 40-minute slot but only used 10–15 minutes to let their dog have a quick run around and toilet break before heading home, which is absolutely fine.
Please keep an eye on the weather forecast before your booking and plan accordingly if you feel it may be too hot for your dog. As a reminder, bookings can be cancelled up to 24 hours before and rescheduled up to 12 hours before your slot, and bookings can be moved as many times as needed within those terms.
Please remember:
💧 Bring plenty of water
🌳 Use shaded areas
🐕 Watch your dog closely
🚗 Consider car temperatures when travelling
☀️ Early morning and evening slots are often cooler
