Friday’s dogs were a lovely mix of fresh coats and clean teeth 🐾

We had:

Merlot the Corgi — full groom and first teeth clean
Declan the Staffy — bath, deshed and deep teeth clean
Ruben the Bouvier — full groom
Poppy the Working Cocker — full groom and Emmipet maintenance session
Bella the Cockapoo — first Emmipet session

A busy little line-up to end the week, with some brilliant teeth cleaning progress too. It’s always so satisfying seeing the difference, whether it’s a first session, a deeper clean or keeping on top of maintenance.

Lots of gorgeous dogs, fresh grooms and healthier smiles 🤍

Yesterday was very nearly brought to you by the letter B 🐾

We had Blue, Bertie, Boomer, Bear, Barney… with Kobi, Suki and Teddy just keeping things balanced.

Today’s dogs:

Blue the Cocker — Full Groom
Bertie the Border Terrier — First visit and full groom
Boomer the Cocker — First Emmipet teeth cleaning session
Kobi & Bear the Shih Tzus —Full grooms
Suki the Labradoodle — Bath and brush
Barney & Teddy the Cavapoos — Emmipet maintenance sessions

There was also some brilliant teeth cleaning progress, which is always so satisfying to see. Little improvements really do build up over time with regular sessions.

I’m thinking about creating an online guide to help owners keep their dogs mat-free between grooming appointments — without spending ages brushing every day.

Before I create it, I’d love to know what people actually struggle with most.

Do you brush regularly but still get told there are knots? Does your dog hate being brushed? Or are you just never quite sure if you’re doing it properly?

I’m going to share a few quick poll. They’ll only take a second to answer, and your feedback will help me make something genuinely useful rather than just another generic grooming guide.

A little back to basics post from Friday 🐾

I used to post before and afters of the dogs every day, and although I don’t do it as much now, it’s still lovely to show off some of the gorgeous faces that come through the salon.

The salon is fully air conditioned and fresh water is always available, but with the heat outside and the warmth from the driers, it can still get very hot during the grooming process.
Your dog’s comfort and safety will always come first, so in some cases the finish may not be perfect, or dogs may go home slightly damp if that’s what’s best for them.
If an elderly, overweight or flat-faced dog is struggling in the heat, I will stop the groom.
Please also avoid walking your dog to the salon in this weather where possible.

Today is a very special day... 🥳

Please join me in wishing a very Happy 9th Birthday to Chief! 🎂🐾

For those of you who visit the salon regularly, you'll know Chief isn't just my dog – he's the salon's resident hound, official treat inspector, professional sofa tester and my constant shadow.

He's been by my side through the highs, the lows, the long days and everything in between. Sitting Pretty simply wouldn't be the same without him.

Thank you to all of my lovely customers for loving him almost as much as I do and for always stopping to say hello, sneaking him a fuss and ask after him when he isn't around.

Here's to more walks, more adventures, more naps and hopefully many more years of Chief greeting everyone at the salon door. ❤️
