Would you open your heart and sponsor one of our special Greyhound Groups this Christmas? ๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿพ

Poorly Pooches:

Some greyhounds come into our care needing a little extra help - whether theyโ€™re recovering from injury, managing long-term conditions, or simply arriving in poor health. โค๏ธโ€๐Ÿฉน

๐Ÿค• These lovely hounds deserve the same chance at comfort and happiness as any other.

Our Poorly Pooches sponsorship helps to make that possible. ๐Ÿ’š

Your support contributes to vital treatment, medication and ongoing care, giving every greyhound the best chance to heal and move forward into a loving home. ๐Ÿก

Youโ€™ll also receive updates in our Homer magazine, showing how your kindness is helping.

Sponsor today: greyhoundtrust.org.uk/support-us/sponsor-a-greyhound.

Thank you. ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿผ๐Ÿ’š

Seriously ... ๐Ÿ™„

We know it can be tempting to share your festive favourites with your pets, but here is some food for thought before you do ๐Ÿ‘€

If you can't resist sneaking the dog a few scraps from your Christmas dinner, make sure you know what's safe for them to enjoy and what is best avoided.

And remember, what seems like a tiny portion to us can be a lot for your pet.

[Visual description: An infographic displaying the safe and unsafe parts of a Christmas dinner for your pets. Safe foods include: boiled carrot and parsnip, broccoli, boiled or steamed greens, carrot or swede mash, lean parts of white meat. Unsafe foods include: gravy, stuffing, anything containing garlic, onion or leek, bones, chocolate, mince pies, panettone and anything containing currants, raisins and sultanas. Foods that are safe in small amounts include: roast potatoes, bacon, sausage and cranberry]

Remember, remember the fifth of November ๐ŸŽ†

In case you missed it, we've shared a weekly video series full of vet-approved tips to help ease our pets' anxiety around fireworks and Bonfire Night.

We recommend scrolling back to watch all five of the videos, but if you don't have time, here's a brief overview of the tips we've shared.

If your pet is still struggling with fireworks, speak to your vet โค๏ธโ€๐Ÿฉน

With temperatures set to be high this week, please remember, there is no safe amount of time to leave dogs alone in a car during the hot weather โ€“ even a few minutes could prove to be fatal โ˜€๏ธ๐Ÿš— Keep your pooches safe, cool and hydrated in the heat!

๐Ÿšจ DOG WALKERS - BEAT THE HEAT! ๐Ÿ•โ˜€๏ธ

Hot weather can be dangerous for your dog and the dogs that you walk. Donโ€™t risk heatstroke this summer!

๐Ÿ”ฅ Quick tips for safe walks:

โœ… Walk during cooler times โ€“ early morning or late evening.
โœ… Always carry water and a bowl.
โœ… Stick to shaded routes where possible.
โœ… Test pavements: if itโ€™s too hot for your hand (7 seconds), itโ€™s too hot for paws!
โœ… Never leave your dog in a parked car โ€“ even for a minute!

Stay cool, stay safe, and letโ€™s protect our furry friends this summer!
