I truly love what I do. Spending my days with incredible dogs, soaking up the fresh air, forming meaningful bonds with each pup, and having the freedom of working for myself - it really is a dream come true. Every day, I feel grateful to be trusted with such an important part of your pet’s life🫶
But let’s be real: dog walking isn’t just about grabbing a lead and heading out for a stroll. It’s running a business and there's a lot that goes on behind the scenes that people don’t always see.
From managing bookings, responding to messages, organizing ever-changing schedules, and staying in constant communication with clients. To handling admin, keeping up with social media, updating calendars (and yes even filing tax returns) it’s a full-time commitment. And that’s before you even factor in the walks themselves!
It’s early mornings, late nights, being on-call when people need you, and showing up no matter the weather. It takes physical energy, emotional presence, and mental focus. While I adore every moment, it’s not always “easy.”
This is my job - its not a hobby. It’s real work that I’ve built from the ground up, and I take it seriously. Just because I love what I do doesn't mean it's not hard work.
Sometimes, that care goes beyond the walk. Like with Pepsi, one of my regulars. Every week, I take him to Posh Petz - Peterborough for his bath with his medicated shampoo, and once a month, I take him to the vet for his Cytopoint injection to help manage his skin condition. It's these little extra things, the love, the commitment, the responsibility, that I’m very proud to offer.
So when people say, “That must be such a relaxing job,” I smile. Because yes, it’s fulfilling and joyful, but it’s also real care, real responsibility, and real work.
Thank you to all my wonderful clients - human, feline and canine.
You make every moment of this journey so rewarding!
