Today was my last day of dog walking. After nearly 10 years, this hasn’t been an easy decision to make, and saying goodbye has been much harder than I expected.

Thank you to every single client who trusted me with their dogs over the years. Your loyalty, kindness and support have meant more to me than I can properly put into words. It’s been a privilege to spend my days with such wonderful dogs, watching them grow, change and just be their brilliant selves.

While I’ll still see some familiar faces when they come in for grooming, there are many I won’t see as often, and I will miss them all tremendously. Every walk, muddy paw, soggy lead and happy tail wag has been part of something very special.

Thank you for allowing me to be such a big part of your dogs’ lives. I’ll carry a lot of lovely memories forward with me. 🐾

Trees lay fallen,
Spines of the forest resting in the mud.
Fog pressed low,
Turning paths into guesses.

Logs stacked like paused sentences,
Branches underfoot, boots surrendering.
But the dogs didn’t hesitate.

They leapt the fallen,
Threaded the wreckage,
Tails writing joy across the grey,
As if the woods were exactly as they should be.

Weather report: absolutely foul. Mizzling rain, low cloud, fog hanging about, gloomy and dark. The sort of day that makes you stare into the distance and wonder why dry sofas are so underrated.

The dogs, however, couldn’t have cared less. Full speed, ears flapping, legs everywhere, chasing each other like the world was ending hence the fly-by photos, because apparently standing still was not on today’s agenda 🐕💨

What a change from yesterday’s weather. I think we were all relieved to finally escape the rain. So from one kind of splashing to another, we wandered down to the river where everyone had a good paddle in the shallows. Today’s line-up was Cali and Buddy, Foxy and Skye, Kopi and little Io, who zipped around so fast she dodged every photo like it was a sport.

Another wet and wild walk today. The rain wasn’t messing about, but neither were the dogs!

Io and Arlo were very serious about the ball. Io actually tries to play properly… Arlo just grabs it and refuses to let anyone have it back. Standard behaviour.

Angus tried his best to get involved but he’s always that tiny bit too slow, bless him. He still gets excited every time like he’s won.

Callie and Foxy, on the other hand, couldn’t care less about running for the ball. Foxy just barks at me to throw it anyway, like she’s definitely part of the game from her comfy spot.

And here’s the shocker… we actually managed to come home without being completely covered in mud. I’m still not sure how we pulled that off.

Cold, wet, a little bit chaotic… but tails were wagging so that’s a win!

Well, today’s walk was definitely eventful. First I got knocked over by a couple of excitable dogs, then my wellies decided to twist me into a pretzel and I went down again. And while everyone checked I was okay, I was mostly trying to work out exactly what I might have landed in. Priorities. ,🙄

A blustery walk today for the gang. The wind was determined to push us off course, but we carried on, ears flapping and paws marching through the leaves. A few cheeky raindrops tried to join us too, but nobody seemed to mind. Fresh air, muddy paths, and happy faces all round. A proper autumn adventure for the crew.

We braved the rain like a determined little expedition, paws and wellies marching forward through dripping leaves and mud that tried its best to steal our footing. Puddles became launchpads for joyful leaping, and the countryside smelled like adventure baked fresh.

Our greatest discovery dangled from the trees: mysterious homemade “treats,” clearly placed there by woodland snack fairies. A cheeky nibble proved they were very tasty… right up until the official decree arrived that they were absolutely not for us. A collective pause, a few guilty crumbs, and onward we trudged, adding another soggy victory to our story.

Rain: defeated. Mud: conquered. Bird feeders: reluctantly surrendered.

A fine day’s adventuring. 🌧️🐾

Six dogs. One human.
Woodland expedition activated.

Sniffing every leaf, racing every breeze, claiming every stick like it’s treasure.
Leads twist, tails thump, and laughter spills into the trees.

They explore. You follow.
Outnumbered… but loving it. 🐾🌲✨

Sadie strode out first, her voice carrying across the path like a tiny town crier determined to keep order. Anyone who crossed her orbit was politely but firmly informed of the rules. Foxy spun behind her, a rust-gold blur of glee, weaving between the others as if stitching the group together with pure joy.

Iris darted in whenever she spotted a chance for a chase, zipping after Skye, who opened the throttle the moment her paws hit open ground.
And then there was Angus, the lone gentleman of the gang, doing his quiet, steady patrol. He didn’t say much, but you could feel him keeping the whole little cosmos balanced.

A lively parade, all of them; a pocket-sized ensemble moving through the day like it belonged to them. 🐕💫

Today’s walk was a washout 😩
Yes, the grass had those neat little droplets hanging off every blade, trying to make the place look poetic… but it didn’t fool me. Pretty or not, it was still cold, wet, and absolutely not pleasant.
