A mini report from KCIAF
(kennel club International agility festival) the biggest show in the UK. A huge well done to all that attended
Great few days in the sunshine at KCIAF for Simply Animals members.
Bella & first time at KCI and what a memorable time they had with plenty to celebrate & be proud of.
1st in Agility, only dog not eliminated!
3rd in Agility.
1st in Jumping, only dog to go clear!
2nd in Jumping.
35th out of 86 dogs in the Starters cup and, whilst eliminated, gave the ABC qualifiers C1-7 a good go with a very respectable run.
Suzanne Thompson Ruby is in limbo at the moment after recently winning into grade 5 but this didn’t stop her enjoying herself.
3rd out of 55, and 7th out of 53 dogs in Jumping. 5th out of 67, and 8th out of 76 dogs in Agility, all clear rounds.
An unplaced clear in the Crufts Novice Cup finishing 31st out of 235 dogs. Unfortunately she got eliminated on the very last jump in the ABC qualifiers after running clear up until that point! 🤦♀️
Andrea Marshall Seb’s second KCI and his first show in Grade 3. He ran well this year, and was much more confident. There was no placings as some unlucky 5 faults but lots of learning, improved contacts, and leaving poles up. And he got to celebrate his 5th birthday with his friends.
Ellie-mae pushed passed her fear of running in a very busy environment in a posh ring and managed to get 19th out of 191 dogs in the ABC qualifier. She also got a clear round in the crufdts singles junping even though I managed to fall and get back up lol.
Riley smashed the weekend getting placed in 4 out of 6 classes. Especially as 2 of those classes we jutted used as training. The big goal was to win an agility class to take us to grade 4 which she managed. She also managed 2 x second places and 4th place in the Novice cup out of over 140 dogs.
& Daisy grade 6, 5 runs all weekend, did some really cool layering skills, picked up all weaves for a change(arthritis management is 🤌 with Lisa) had an unfortunate elimination 4 from home in agility. That got us the special from Hannah wade. Super nice clear in jumping. 4 eliminations over all. Retirement plans have had a pin put in them for now after I saw her face in a video.
These owners & dogs get on so well and have thoroughly enjoyed sharing a fun few days together, and supporting each other at one of the world’s biggest Agility Shows.
