Very successful weekend here at Tips & Tails Dog Training School.

Minnie did her first Championship Show and won Best Female Havanese Puppy, Best Havanese Puppy and Reserve Best Female in Breed. This means she has qualified for Crufts 2027.

Mouse and Adira wiped the board at their agility competition by coming first and second in their classes and Mouse finally got her first in an agility class which means she will now be running at Grade 2. This means that Adira by default will run at Grade 2 and Minnie when she starts competing will start at Grade 2 and by passing Grade 1.

Just been on our first pack walk of this year and these three did exceptionally well. All are reactive around new dogs and the only time we had a little noise was when a strange dog popped out of the woods unexpectedly.

Our next walk will be on 14th August 10.00 at Winkleigh Woods. Please message me if you would like to join.

I had a lovely evening last night connecting with other canine businesses around the area at The Retreat, Canine Hydrotherapy and Rehabilitation Pawsitive Connections Event. Thank you for organising.

Networking is such a positive thing in any business but especially in the canine world where a lot of us are the only person within our business and therefore have no one to bounce ideas off or vent our frustrations to someone who understands.

It was lovely to put faces to names that we may only have known on line in social media world.

Unfortunately I did not get to speak to everyone this time.

Could I ask you to give me a review on Google please.

I seem to have completely dropped off the radar on searches. Which means owners like you don't get the chance to find me.😭

Thank you, here is the link

UPDATE

There is one place available due to cancellation.

Does your dog walk nicely around other dogs?

Why not join one of our pack walk training sessions and learn how to teach your dog to walk nicely on a lead around other dogs and people.

This is not suitable for extremely reactive dogs as they would find this too stimulating but I do offer 121 training where we can practice in the real world.

The first pack walk is 31st July 10.00 at Abbeyford Woods, Okehampton.

Message me if you would like a place. Only a few left for this date.

Myths and Legends

An old folk lore belief is that if a dog is eating couch or twitch grass it predicts rain!

It is probably more likely that they are doing it for digestive rather than meteorological reasons.

Seen as a w**d here in the UK other parts of Europe see it as possessing useful herbal qualities.

With all this hot weather I'm sending my dogs out to eat grass, if they can actually find any! Just incase the folk lore belief is correct 😉☔
