We have been working with the gorgeous William (Melanie Lawrence's fabulous homebred youngster) getting him comfortable with the trailer after he had an unfortunate experience causing him to feel very anxious about the whole process. Many quiet hours of work outside and inside the trailer have lead him to believe that the trailer is becoming an awesome place to be, as demonstrated by his self loading and unloading!

All those coming to Steve Young tomorrow, the post code is EX20 2QZ, Caring horsemanship, Whiddon Down. Look for an old post and rail in front of a large grass area and the name "south nethercott farm " on a white sign. Turn down the concrete drive and bear left to find us. Parking is in the field behind the school. Looking forward to seeing you.

Hi guys we are doing a last-minute clinic at ‘Caring Horsemanship ,Okehampton Devon Saturday, the 11th of June, clinic consisting of ground work/horsemanship/ ridden horsemanship , limited spaces and spectator places available , indoor / outdoor school depending on the weather message for info 🤗 Update
We are really looking forward to providing the venue on saturday @ caring horsemanship. There will be plenty of parking available in the fields.
Overnight stabling is also available by prior arrangements.
Refreshments tea/ coffee/ cake/ lunch will be available too.
We have chairs but feel free to bring your own seating.
It has been brought to my attention that Google says we are closed😬😬 we are open! Many apologies. Hopefully reinstating the right info with Google asap.

We all know the benefits of a track for horses and ponies, so here is an example of one of ours.
A track we recently made around the edge of a large paddock. Great for increasing exercise and fatter ponies needing less grass.
It's 20ft wide with extra passing space on the corners. We used timber posts for strength and electric posts for flexibility to add or reduce grass. We also have an older horse with compromised teeth grazing the centre as he requires longer grass. So far it's working really well.

So... many of you will know that mum, Penny Hill handed over the reins to me a few years ago to continue caring horsemanship. I've been quiet about this part of our work on the farm (for many reasons, but mostly confidence) instead I prefer to use social media to share pictures of Eva and the animals. But I have been gently (and not so gently😂) prodded by those around me to talk about some of the lovely things we do here at caring horsemanship so expect a few mini blogs, pictures and videos 😬😬🙏

Lulu and Perkins some of our older liveries. Lulu is over 35 possibly pushing 40 according to her owners and Perkins is 29. Perkins has been either owned, cared for or part cared for by us at caring horsemanship for two thirds of his life. Both these two have teeth issues and Lulu has cushings but are thriving on their care here. Each horse is an individual and is treated as such, but always as a horse, mind, body, soul.
