Merry Christmas Everyone 🎄🎅🍻

We are open as normal until 1pm on Christmas Eve and then our on call vet will take over until the practice reopens on Saturday morning.

We all hope everyone has a lovely festive period, the animals behave, and you can put your feet up for at least a short period.

Avian Influenza- Mandatory housing has come into place today in certain areas of the AIPZ, including Leicestershire, Derbyshire and Staffordshire.

You must house your birds if you keep either more than 50 birds of any species or/and any poultry where you seek or give away the eggs.

Mandatory biosecurity measures continue to be in place for the rest of the AIPZ which is the whole of England.

This Sunday is the Sheepy Ploughing Match. It is a great day showcasing the best of the ploughing both by horses and tractors, as well as the hedge competitions and the dog show which we have sponsored again this year.

Bluetongue restrictions update.

APHA have announced that some of the Bluetongue restrictions are being eased as of today as we have entered the low vector period.

The restriction zone remains in place.

UK Chief Veterinary Officer announces we are now in the seasonally vector low period for bluetongue virus.
