🐾💜🐾 Grooming the older dogs 🐾💜🐾

This Saturday, my youngest client was 9 years old and my oldest was a wonderful 17!🥰

You can imagine, grooming our older dogs sometimes means adapting things to suit their individual needs. At this stage, the finished style has to take a back seat because when it comes to our older dogs, it’s not about how cute I can make them, how perfectly tidy I can get their little paws, or whether their face is looking even.

It’s about keeping them happy, comfortable and stress free. ❤️

Nothing will ever come before the comfort and wellbeing of the dogs in my care. Sometimes that means taking a little longer, having a few extra breaks, or accepting that we may not achieve the “perfect” groom and that is okay. 🐾

There’s something very special about caring for our older dogs, and I feel incredibly lucky to be trusted with them. 🥰🐾💜

🐾💜🐾Healthy Teeth, Happy Tails! 🐾💜🐾

Did you know dental care is just as important for your dog as grooming? 🦷

I offer teeth cleaning in the salon to help keep your dog’s teeth clean, fresh and healthy.

Regular cleaning can help remove plaque and tartar before it becomes a bigger problem but it’s important to know that salon teeth cleaning is for maintaining healthy teeth, not treating dental disease.

If I notice heavy tartar build up, sore or bleeding gums, loose teeth, infection, or any other signs of poor dental health, I’ll always recommend that your dog is seen by a vet. 🩺 Once there is an underlying dental problem, it’s the vet’s job to assess and treat it properly.

Prevention is always better than cure! 🐾

Just a little note to let everyone know that I’ll be away from the salon from now until 15th August.

During this time, I won’t be available to answer calls or messages, but I’ll get back to everyone as soon as possible once I’m back.

🐾💜🐾A little reminder for all of my lovely customers 🐾💜🐾

If your dog has recently injured themselves, is limping, has a skin irritation, is recovering from surgery, or has any health concerns that I am unaware off or they have happened between their grooming appointments please let me know as soon as possible before your grooming appointment.

The welfare and comfort of every dog in my care will always come first. Grooming can be physically demanding, and if a dog is in pain or has a medical issue, it may not be in their best interests to be groomed that day. In these situations, I may need to postpone the appointment until they are feeling better.

Unfortunately, when I’m only told about an injury or health issue on arrival, I often have no choice but to send the dog home. This means the appointment can’t usually be filled at such short notice, and another customer has missed the opportunity to book that time.

By letting me know in advance, we can discuss the situation together, decide whether it’s best to postpone the groom, and, if needed, I can offer the appointment to another client while your dog has time to recover.

Thank you for your understanding and for helping me put your dog’s health, comfort, and welfare first. I really appreciate your support. ❤️🐶

🐾💜🐾 Cutie pie! 🐾💜🐾

This sweet little girl was a bit nervous today, but we’re taking things at her pace and working on building her confidence so her grooming visits can become a more enjoyable experience. She loves all the attention, but she’s still a little unsure about the drying process and standing on the grooming table.

I’m determined to help her feel more comfortable with each visit, and I’m so proud of the progress she’s already making. 💜🐾

I just wanted to say a huge thank you to everyone who kindly rearranged their appointments due to the heat. I don’t like swapping appointments around, but it was the best decision for the dogs’ comfort and wellbeing. We do have air con which makes a massive difference in the salon but we have to think about how the dogs will be once they have traveled in these extreme temperatures.

I really appreciate your understanding, flexibility, and support. Thank you!
