Read those labels !! There are sooo many sneaky tricks to the dog food and treat industry 🥴😕🥴
Let's talk LABELLING tricks - first up, "Flavour"...
When you see phrases like “Chicken flavour” or “Beef flavour” on a dog food label, it might sound like your dog’s getting a hearty helping of real meat - but that’s not necessarily the case.
Here’s what it really means:
❗It just needs to taste like chicken or beef - not contain it.
❗The flavour can come from things like animal fats, meat digest, or artificial additives.
❗There’s no required amount of real meat unless the label says “with chicken” or “made with real beef.”
So, while it might sound meaty, it's always best to check the label to know what’s really in the bowl.
