When I started as PAWPERS IN THE RUFF fundraiser six years ago my mission was to do as many fundraisers as I could to help Marija & Ivana help the street and dump dogs of Macedonia 🇲🇰 have a better life, treat their disease and illness and feed them.
PAWPERS IN THE RUFF was originally called Dump Dogs and at the point I joined them I had never spoken to Marija or Ivana (I don't even think they knew who I was 😂) but with a quick message to Marija to ask if I could help the rest is history, and here we are, years later and two great friendships were formed with three like minded people 🙂
I think there were about 759 (or it may have been 579 😂) members in group at that time and over the years we have now grown to an amazing 6400 members on the group and 7300 followers on our sister page which is amazing, and you are all so very welcome thank you for joing and supporting our dogs 🙂
❓ What's the point of my post you may ask I will try to explain❓
From a total of nearly 200 dogs in our care only 86 are sponsored and some of those are not fully covered 😱 so as you may imagine they eat into our funds at a ridiculous rate. I do know that things have changed considerably with the present cost of living situation but the fact remains our dogs need to be cared for and that includes everything from safe housing, food, medical care, flea/worm treatment and everything else that is dog 🐕
Our kennels are very basic, but they were very gratefully funded by our dear member Lynne Cameron (who sadly passed away in 2021) and by Sheila Goldinger Pizur who thankfully is still a huge supporter of our PAWPERS dogs 🐾🐾🙂 We are extremely grateful to both as they enabled us to get where we needed to be sooner than we dared hoped. The food we feed our dogs is not the best but we have gone for a better quality even though it is more expensive, there is very little variety in fact it's the same food every day, just kibble with no meat 🥲
When Lynne was poorly she kindly sent me quite a few items for my auctions, two of them being the Dream Big plaque that you see in the photo, both of which I sent over to Macedonia, one for Marija and one for Ivana as they have BIG dreams for all the dogs who come into their care, and that is that we will be able to continue to care for them 🙏
So now my mission is to encourage as many of you as I can to PLEASE join the £2.00 or £5.00 monthly club or if you prefer to offer to sponsor/co-sponsor one of our many dogs. Example 6400 members at £2.00 per month will bring in £12,800.00 and 6400 members at £5.00 per month will bring in £32,000.00 per month……just imagine, we could do so much with this.
Who hasn’t joined yet and would like to? Please do consider joining it would take so much pressure off us 🐾🐾🙂
