Bostadh mum came to visit

He is now confidently out hacking in walk and trot, exploring the fields. This meant it was time for his mum to sit on her pony for the first time.

It can be a daunting thought sitting on a pony you’ve waited years to ride. No need to worry for Bostadh mum, they did such a good job on the short hack in walk and trot they went for a wander round the field 🥰

Making confident, happy ponies is the reason I do this job but making confident pony and owner combinations makes it worth it!

Foaling season has started 🥹

In the early hours of Friday morning Indie had a lovely c**t! Indie is a Welsh mare, Highland pony Murdoch Mhor of Croila Croft is the sire.

We are making friends everyday, enjoying scratches! He’s very good at helping me waste time.

I am really pleased with him, he is going to make a great all rounder when he’s older 😍

Star arrived a few weeks ago to be backed

She was a special new arrival for her owners as a surprise “buy one get one free” when they bought her mum 🙊. We’re unsure of her breeding but she is cute!

Star has already done some groundwork which has shone through as she’s picked everything up quite quickly.

She is starting to go out on short hacks, sometimes unwilling to get going going but that is improving.

Sirius arrived a couple of weeks ago in style with Eric GIllies.

He is a five year old here to be backed. His owner has already done a lot of groundwork with him teaching him to longrein. We want to make sure that we are on the same page and he understands the commands coming from us too.

He was sensitive to the long lines going over his hindquarters but a confident boy out and about. When it came to the dummy, standing still waiting for it to be put on was hard for him but he is now very patient.

Hopefully he will be out hacking with a rider now.

Chase heads home on Friday

He has been here for nearly 9 weeks. Chase arrived unbacked, with well established handling and a great personality.

He is heading home backed, stronger, fitter, more confident, hacking on varied routes, ready to continue his education with his mum 🥰

Here are photos from when he arrived ready to start work and the week of leaving enjoying the view from up the hill

Seamas went home a couple of weeks ago after his holiday here. We spent the majority of his time out hacking to gain strength and fitness, taking advantage of all the different hacking routes we have available to keep his brain busy too.

Murdoch Mhor of Croila Croft

First ever open class and he smashed it coming in first place.

Murdo had his first show season as a six year old, an amazing novice season which de-noviced us! Last year we just pottered about at home having fun. For Murdo I didn’t think it would be fair to jump from novice to open classes after one ridden year.

This year he has really come into himself physically and mentally. Which showed when he went on to be overall ridden champion ❤️

We have things to work on but I am super excited for the season ahead!

Botasdh is back to be backed 🥰

He was here last year for some groundwork, he learned to long rein with the dummy on before heading home.

After only arriving a week ago it’s like he never left! He has stormed through everything he learned last year, groundwork, long reining, long reining with the dummy on and ended the week having a rider on board.

Next week hopefully he will be out for short hacks!
