However it's not just any old Friday.. Today is also International Cotton-top Tamarin Day, a chance to celebrate and protect these critically endangered monkeys. 💚

Did you know?? They’re found only in a small patch of Colombia’s forests, and that wild white “cotton” crest on their heads is where they get their name! 🌿

Every visit helps us care for them and raise awareness of their plight, so while you’re enjoying your weekend, you’re also helping make a difference. 💚

🐒 Thumbelina our beautiful Colobus Monkey is loving her treat ball today! 🏐

Enrichment time = happy time. 💚

🧠 Fun Fact: Colobus monkeys don’t have thumbs. 😮
Their name comes from the Greek word “kolobos”, meaning “mutilated,” because of their reduced thumbs, which help them perfectly travel through the trees at high speed! 🌳

Monkey Haven - Our happy sanctuary

Swing on by to Monkey Haven – the happiest attraction in town! The award-winning primate rescue centre and sanctuary is a favourite on TripAdvisor and a recent winner of best small attraction in England.

Come along and meet our wonderful family, including whooping gibbons, mischievous monkeys, naughty meerkats, incredible reptiles and beautiful birds of prey, that have all been rescued and given a new lease of life. They have such fun…and you will too.

There are keeper talks and animal feeds throughout the day, where you can find out all about our awesome animals and they came to be here. You can also get up close to hand-reared birds of prey at the daily talks – just pop along to ‘Have a hoot with the owls’ or learn to handle a snake at ‘Reptile Rendezvous’.

Our mission is to provide a happy Haven for rescued animals. Many of the animals we care for have been rescued from the cruel pet trade and are very rare. Monkey Haven is a registered charity and all proceeds from your visit will help the animals you’ll meet and enable us to rescue more animals in need of care.
