Time to write a book and share some knowledge as I feel there is so many distracting methods out there regarding hoof trimming. I’m far from the best and I’m going to be forever learning however my view on horses is they are simple once you break it all down. My way of being with horses and trimming their hooves the passed 20 years has changed significantly and I will always keep on trying to improve. My book writing has started with my journey to where I am now followed by my way of seeing how to improve horses in all aspects of their life whether that’s a foal, working horse, laminitis horse, horse with navicular, Abscess issues, Conformation issues, Health issues so the whole horse and how diet comes together and working closely with the owner, vets, Physios ect. I’ve had the privilege of working with horses worth £1 to £1 million however they all deserve the exact same treatment regardless. I look forward to finishing my book to maybe help others be less confused the answer is right in front of you the individual horse not one works for all.

What an amazing week I haven’t had time to think 😅 Thank you to all my amazing loyal customers I will be doing my diary all weekend as I literally haven’t had time to do my diary almost of the week due to trimming. This is one of my customers this week two beautiful clydales I some how managed to make look small however 17.3 hands built like a brick s**t house Jackie John 🤣🤣 However I’m clearly just an animal 😎💪🤣🤣 Look forward to seeing you all soon next week and so on. I may need to actually adjust some days and times to make my days as affective as possible to keep up with you all 😎👌🔥

Pony had touch of laminitis last frost around a month ago and customer has dealt with this pony diet and management very well just done a little video showing our approach.

Hi everyone hope your all having a lovely Easter break. Please be careful and keep an eye out for all the pre laminitis signs I’ve taught you all we have had zero cases to date any concerns please message I’m happy to advise. Remember prevention is better than cure.
As you all know I always talk about the trimming every visit and invite any questions after each trim to explain what I’ve done. However I’m wondering if anyone would like an added service where I take photos of every hoof “Lateral view, Dorsal view and solo view” with measurements and drawings out lining what we are working on what there is to improve if any and mark out point of access where it should be and if we need to tweak trims ect, diet management to improve hoof quality again if needed. I do most of this anyway however if anyone would like this consultation even every 6 months where I do a full scale written report sent over via email as I’ll do it properly or I’ll readily print out everything and fill in each box please let me know there will be an additional cost for this as it will take best part of 1 to 2 hours per horse. I do talk about this included in our trims and that won’t change however if anyone would like this extra work carried out please let me know in advance ideally on day we book in advance so I can allow the extra time I’m happy to do it this will cost approx £90 trim included as it will take a considerable amount of time however this would be good once every 6 months maybe however totally optional just might be good for keeping a record of all our progressions 😊. My prices for trims haven’t changed £35 however if additional as mentioned above I’m happy to offer this service just needs to cover costs as I allow usually 30 minutes for a trim so obviously will go over that extra service. Just trying to offer the best possible service for everyone thank you 😊

Wow it’s been a busy 19 years starting from shoeing to barefoot. Got to love a moment with a beautiful barefoot horse. Pic taken seconds before I done a very minor trim as feet are holding their shape/ balance them selves through my method. This horse lands laterally so slightly high on the medial aspect/ minor lateral flare which is all I altered as you can see on follow pic however very minor which is better little tweaks rather than major. Look at how lovely spread the frog is fills good half of the hoof 👌 minor imperfections however overall very pleased if I was to be critical the central cleft needed some of my hoof balm to treat very minor thrush however horse is very pleased and happy 👌 Trimmed Friday just gone 👌 You can see I didn’t even need to trim the lateral such minor trim which is better less we do the better. Horse is lovely and sound riding out over all terrains.
