Vet Lewis takes us behind a more advanced calf health approach.

By using a sedative before disbudding, the procedure is less stressful for the calves, safer for the team, and allows the job to be carried out more smoothly.

But it doesn’t stop there… Lewis also uses ultrasound scanning to check calf lungs for any signs of hidden pneumonia—helping identify calves that may need treatment early, whilst giving valuable feedback on overall calf health and farm management.
