I'd just like to apologise to anyone affected by recent events...as some of you know, my car was destroyed early last week by a speeding driver, which has led to chaos sorting everything personal out and reshuffling people for later in the week. If I have missed a message from you, or we've rescheduled and you need to change anything, please give me a shout and I can get something sorted for you. And thank you to those who've been understanding and flexible with being moved. Fortunately the dogs were OK and we escaped with aches and bruises, the car protected us well, but it's a total write-off and of course dealing with the aftermath takes up SO much time 😫

I am taking bookings for this week so please drop me a message if in need, onwards we go, dogs to groom and bills to pay!!

Bit of an introduction for those of you who don't know me! Hi I'm Laura, and I've been grooming dogs for around 10 years, nowadays mainly around Holywell, Flint, Deeside, Mold, Kinnerton and surrounding areas. I've been self employed for a few years, but circumstances led me to go mobile in a van earlier in the year. It's been great to travel around and see clients and their dogs at home.

Restraints don't tend to be used in the van as layout renders them largely unnecessary, the only exception being a lead if dog is particularly lively. I often find that less can be more, and nervous dogs may be more inclined to panic when they're restricted too much, so I find out what works for the individual dog. My van setup only really allows for dogs up to collie size, due to space, however is kitted out with all the equipment I need to carry out full grooms...I'm not lacking anything from my salon days :) Grooms include a full bath and dry, style to your requirements as close as possible, nail clip, and ear pluck where required.

I have significant experience of grooming more challenging dogs, including some free grooms donated to rescue dogs in foster, as this is a cause close to my heart (all mine have been rescues). It's amazing the tricks picked up after years of this!

I knew from childhood that I wanted to work with dogs, and with that in mind I studied Animal Behaviour at university. Job roles over the years have included dog trainer, boarding kennel staff, and of course grooming, which I actually fell into by accident with my first dog training role but developed an interest for and was trained up in.

I've had all sorts of dogs over the years, large and small, Cavaliers and Springers being very close to my heart as I grew up with several. I've also had a couple of rescue mixed breeds from Romania who truly stole my heart. Sadly after the loss of my 2 eldest earlier in the year, I am now down to 2, both acquired by accident from difficult situations. My Border Collie, Kipper, and Jessica the Staffie x Shar Pei...both dogs enjoy various dog sports and long walks. Jess competes in agility, and has even been in a BBC TV series we spent a few months filming for a few years back. Agility shows are often why we tend to be out of action at weekends!

I look forward to meeting you and your dogs, and getting them clean and tidy for you...even if they choose not to stay that way!!

Having not long taken the business mobile, it's been great to see it working out so well for people who've been coming to me for years, I have also met some lovely new customers and their dogs. However, it can take a while for word to spread.

As recommendations from existing happy customers speak volumes, I've decided to offer a free groom to whoever of my existing customers refers the most new clients who book and keep an appointment within the next couple of months. If you send anyone my way, just tell them to give me your name and I'll add them to the tally! To be decided end of August.

Availability will now be much greater than it was, as I have been working another job but recently handed in my notice and finish this week. So I'm really hoping word will continue to spread of the mobile business and allow me to continue to offer more options, rather than having to take on another commitment again that will reduce my appointment availability.

Existing customers = anyone who's had their dog groomed by me, so if you have a groom booked and are happy enough afterwards to shout about it, this includes you!

Taking bookings for mobile grooming from next week onwards. Earliest availability Thursday 1st May and Friday 2nd May.

If you want your dog grooming within the next few weeks, please message with your postcode, and preferred week if it makes a difference to you. Currently Thursdays and Fridays, possibly a Saturday somewhere, please let me know whether you're flexible or can only do a certain day/morning/afternoon and I can see if there's a way to work around that.

All I need is a place to park and to be able to plug in. First mobile grooms are this week (already booked) - it's happening!! :D Please feel free to share, the more people in a certain area wanting to book, the more I'll be able to travel to that area.

News!!

As some of you know, I've been looking at restarting my mobile service but from a van this time to save my back.

Well, the van has arrived!! Needs a little work to get it ready to go but before long I'm hoping to go mobile again, so posting to see who would be interested.

Limitations:
Will need a driveway or guaranteed spot immediately outside house
Will need to be able to plug in my power cable
Flexibility in booking, as will need to plan days so that clients aren't too far apart

Areas:
Mostyn, Holywell, Flint, Mold, and potentially further over near A*5 West (if you're a current client and your area isn't mentioned, you're welcome to drop me a message to discuss)

Feel free to share my page details with anyone else you think may appreciate this service, the more enquiries I have from specific areas the more I'll be scheduling days there. Prices will of course change to reflect travel costs, will let people know the difference on booking.

Spaces Friday 27th if anyone will be in need after Christmas.

Unfortunately due to other commitments increasing, in the new year I will only be able to offer Fridays and maybe the occasional weekend days for the time being. Not ideal I know but hopefully will be workable for as many people as possible.
