British shorthaired boy Yotto had his first groom with me recently. As with most BSH he has a very dense coat so he needs regular grooming to prevent it building up too much. 🐾😺

Yotto was very interested in me and my equipment when I first arrived. She he was first on my table, Yotto wasn't too sure about it but he soon settled down and I think he liked the fuss. 💟💟

I trimmed Yotto's claws and combed out quite a lot of undercoat. Yotto wasnt too keen on his trousers being combed so I did this in short bursts. He liked the lick e Lix treats too so this was a good distraction when I needed to comb any sensitive areas. 😺🐾

I tried to take some photos of Yotto after the groom but they were all blurry so these photos were taken by his mum a bit later. 😻😻

M c**n girl, Ruby was on my grooming table recently. This was her second groom with me and she did quite a bit better this time. 💟💟

I started the groom with trimming her murder mittens and then gradually working my way through her coat with a comb. Ruby had some mats on her chest and underside so I clipped those off. Ruby's mum was able to distract her with lick e Lix for most of the groom wheni it was needed. 😺🐾

Once the groom was finished Ruby actually didn't want to get off of my table, I think she was quite comfortable! 🤣🤣

Buttons had her maintenance groom with me recently. She's not a fan of this grooming malarkey but she actually did a bit better this time. 💟💟

Buttons loves having the front part of her being groomed but the trousers are the danger zone 😈😈 With a mix of short bursts of grooming, lick e Lix breaks and a good old fuss Buttons was done in no time. Her coat is pretty fluffy so I was able to remove quite a bit of undercoat and the odd knot. I trimmed her claws and cleaned her ears too.

Buttons gave me the stink eye afterwards but she was happily grooming herself just before I took her photos 🤣🤣

Jovi the British Longhaired boy had the best groom to date with me during my recent visit. Jovi is quite highly strung when it comes to being groomed, when I first groomed him he was reactive to even the slightest touch which made it a very tricky groom! 🐾😺

Jovi was still quite chatty during his recent groom but he was a very good boy. He even let me trim his claws with very little fuss. 💟💟

Jovi's dad distracted him with Lick e Lix during the groom as usual while I gave his coat a good comb through. Jovi's coat was lighter than usual so it was a shorter session but that's much better for him and his temperament.

Jovi was happy to pose for a couple of photos, such a gorgeous boy 😻😻

Sophie had her lion cut with me recently, her dad struggles to maintain her fur without it matting so this is the best option for her welfare. 💟💟

I've groomed Sophie for a while now, she was a good girl and doesn't mind being shaved. She's not keen on me tidying up the groom so I do what I can in between her wriggling, as long as the mats are gone that the important thing. 🐾😺

Sophie also had her claws trimmed and ears and eyes cleaned. Once the groom was over she decided to relax outside 😻😻

This gorgeous boy is Rusty, he's a 5 year old domestic Longhaired boy. He's not fond of being brushed but is a gentle boy. He's had some matting on his lower part of his back and sides so I did a modified lion cut. 😺🐾

Rusty's dad kept him occupied with some Lick e Lix while I clipped the mats off. He was pretty accommodating and didn't really mind the shaving. He became a bit restless when I combed the rest of his fur, but with some breaks the groom was completed. 💟💟

Rusty stayed around to I could take some photos, doesn't he look dashing 😻😻

Muffin is a 17 year old domestic shorthaired girl who was struggling with some matted fur. Muffin doesn't like being handled or fussed with very much so her mum struggled with brushing her fur...hence the matting. 💟💟

Muffin was not particularly happy about being on my grooming table but she did very well with some breaks and with me taking my time. I gradually shaved the matted fur off and I was able to comb through the rest of her coat. I trimmed her claws and cleaned her ears to finish off the session. 🐾😺

Muffin will be much more comfortable now without those pesky mats, she looked quite content when I left 😻😻

Double trouble, M c**n brothers, Dexter and Vince were both on my grooming table before I went on holiday. I am quite behind on posts! 🤣🤣

Dexter was much better for his second groom, his fur was in better condition so the session wasn't quite so long for him. I gave his claws a trim, gave his coat a thorough comb through and cleaned his ears. 😺🐾

Vince wasn't quite so happy about being groomed, he had small but of matting so I need to clip those out and managed to do the rest of the groom too. Vince was a nervous boy on the grooming table so I just took my time with him. 💟💟

Look at them after their grooms 😻😻, they 'hid' on the stairs, I think they were plotting to trip me up on the way down 🤣🤣

20 year old Lola had her maintenance groom with me recently, I visit her every 8 weeks to keep on top of her fur. 🐾😺

Lola's mum is always really surprised that Lola tolerates a groom because she won't let her mum do very much. Lola happily settled down for the first 10-15 minutes while I worked my way through her coat with different combs. She doesn't like too much pulling of fur so I used a wide tooth comb first and made my way down to a moulting comb and removed a large amount of undercoat. 💟💟

Lola has a bit of dementia so sometimes she spins while she's on the table, I let her stop, give her a fuss and then she settles down again. Her claws are always quite long so I trimmed them and gave her ears a clean too. Lola was very interested in the camera when I tried to take some photos of her. I think she's getting used to her pampurr sessions 📷😻

Ronnie had to have a lion cut due to extensive thick matting. He's an older Persian boy who had been staying with temporary guardians while his mum was very unwell. Unfortunately Ronnie was not groomed during this time so he was very matted. 💟💟

Ronnie did very well considering the matting was so tight, he licked the air which I always think is because it's a relief to them when the fur is being removed. ❤️❤️

It took a while to remove the coat safely, I gave Ronnie some breaks to keep his stress levels down but he wasn't too bothered by the process. He enjoyed some Lick e Lix treats too 😋😋. I think he was just eager to finally be able to lick his skin to soothe it after the groom. I trimmed his claws and gave his ears and eyes a clean too.

I hope to see Ronnie later in the year to give him a maintenance groom so we can keep on top of his fur. 🐾😺

Ragdoll Bleu had his maintenance groom recently, he's still a wriggly boy for his grooms but he has improved....slowly! 🤣🤣

His coat needed a good de-shed so I did this with the combs. Bleu was his usual chatty self, I always do bursts of grooming otherwise he gets totally fed up. He does like lick e Lix so he can be distracted a bit with this. I gave Bleu's claws a trim and I cleaned his ears too. As you can see from the photos Bleu wanted to stay at arms length and give me the side eye 🤣🤣

Watson was on my grooming table recently. He's on an 8 week schedule to keep on top of his thick coat. He was previously shaved on his sides because he'd become matted. 💟💟

Watson is usually a wriggly little thing during our grooms but he was much less wriggly this time. He enjoyed his lick a Lix distraction treat during the groom and got it on his face 😋🤣

I gave his coat a good comb through to remove the dead undercoat, trimmed his claws and cleaned his ears. He's such a sweet boy😻😻
