A grass cut! 🥳

We have managed to secure a grass cut for Saturday morning. Meaning Saturday afternoon and Sunday are going to be perfect for your dogs to have a good run around and sniff all the fresh smells 🐶

Thank you all so much for the support today! We have waited a long time to get to this day and we are sooo excited to have finally completed 🥳

Stella and JB went down to the fields this morning to have a look around, and we noticed things could definitely do with sprucing up. Obviously this is going to take some time but we have a grass cut booked in for the weekend and we plan on fixing up the agility equipment ASAP - so in the meantime avoid using anything that looks broken and we will keep you all updated on all of the improvements.

Between us, we bring a wealth of experience and a shared passion for helping dogs and their humans thrive.

So, who are we?

🐶 Adam Delderfield – Award-winning dog trainer and founder of Delders Dogs. In 2018, Adam won Dog Trainer of the Year, fighting off stiff competition from the country’s best trainers to be crowned champion. Since then, he has been featured on countless podcasts, spoken at hundreds of events, and helped both dog owners and trainers become the best versions of themselves. His deep understanding of dogs, combined with his passion for helping owners, means Houndabout MK is set to reach new heights!

🐕 Stella Seminerio – Owner of the premium dog walking service Star Dog Services and the driving force behind Delders Dogs. Stella is an expert in dog body language and applies this knowledge daily on dog walks. Her ability to “read dogs” means she truly understands how they tick, and she’s excited to bring those skills to even more dogs through Houndabout MK.

Together, we’ve helped hundreds of dogs build trust, confidence, and stronger bonds with their humans—and now we’re bringing that same love and energy to Houndabout MK!

We believe that every dog deserves the freedom to sniff, play, and just be a dog in a safe and peaceful space. With two spacious 2.5-acre private fields, Houndabout MK offers exactly that, and we can’t wait to welcome you and your dogs!

We are conscious that you may have questions. To help answer these questions we will be creating a FAQ document and running a Zoom Drop in session to give you the ability to ask questions and hear what we have planned.

✨️** UPDATE **✨️

✨️✨All Sessions for the week commencing 7th April have been made available to book online✨️✨️

HoundaboutMK will be changing ownership very shortly with it originally planned for Monday 7th April. Therefore bookings beyond that point had been put on hold until the new owners were in. The plan will be to re-open immediately under the new ownership, or as soon as practically possible, and for the transition to be as seamless as possible for users of the facility.

However, it's been confirmed that there will be a slight delay in the completion of the sale, so I have now reopened the availability for bookings next week up to and including Monday 14th April. I thought you may all like to know!

Apologies for any inconvenience this may have caused.

Hopefully the person that thinks it's ok to throw their Starbucks coffee cup over the fence in field 1 sees this post... please don't book to use the facility again. People like you are not welcome 😡

Coffee cups/bottles/cans must go home with you please (please note, not in the bin - that is for dog 💩 only).

Speaking of dog 💩 I have noticed an increase in the number being left/missed over the past couple of weeks. As always I appreciate the efforts of the large majority that are respectful and vigilant but to those that have been visiting recently and responsible for the 💩 being missed please do better. Thank you ☺️😅🙌🏻

⚠️⚠️ IF you plan to continue using Houndabout for the foreseeable future PLEASE READ! ⚠️⚠️

This is my first post in months and I'm sorry it's not a more positive one - I'm not sure whether it's the fields or myself that have felt more battered and bruised by the winter this year 😩 It's felt like one thing after another over the last few months and makes me regularly question myself whether I've got the energy for this anymore... 🏳

I've now been laid up in bed for the last 5 days with either Covid or Flu 😩😷 so unfortunately I've been unable to do my regular maintenance at the fields.

One user contacted me over the weekend to let me know that they'd found a few missed poos in field 2 and they kindly picked them up but even before the weekend I had noticed a definite drop in the standards expected recently across both fields as I was finding more on my checks than previously...

I fully appreciate the grass is getting longer than I'd ideally allow it but the ground is still so wet, there's little chance of cutting any time soon.

I really hope people can start being more respectful of the facility and each other by being MORE vigilant and responsible for your own dogs 💩 !

I will hopefully get over to the fields over the next few days, health permitting, but I'm conscious that with the Bank Holiday weekend ahead if I find standards continue to be below par I'll need to consider my next move, be it reducing session availability until the grass has been cut OR CLOSING COMPLETELY until further notice..

Mac and I enjoyed an early start and our first visit of 2️⃣0️⃣2️⃣4️⃣ doing maintenance checks in both fields and giving him a good run in the process.

I'd like to take this opportunity to wish all our visitors, past, present and future, a very happy and healthy new year 🎉 and hope that everyone has had a great Christmas. Due to ill health I've not been very active on social media for the past few months but hope for a better year.

Finally, I know I say it every year but a big thank you to everyone that continues to support Houndabout, whether through regular visits, or an occasional visit, liking and/or sharing of our posts and through your recommendations. I will forever be grateful and hope that you continue to enjoy the facility 🐾🙌🙏

Those of you visiting Field 2 in the last week or so will have had the pleasure of driving through "Houndabout Ford"... 🥴 this was caused due to a blockage of the culvert pipe running underneath. I even attempted in vain to clear the blockage myself last week (by going in waist deep..) 🥶

Further rainfall last night made the issue even worse.. but due to the pipe being submerged by over 2 feet of water we needed to dig a trench across the lane to to reduce the water levels enough to access the pipe. 😫

I was thinking we could branch out from dog fields to whitewater canoeing/rafting if enough people were interested.. 🤷‍♂️😂

At least the issue has now been resolved, even if the solution had to be quite drastic.. Field 2 will remain closed tomorrow morning whilst the lane is made passable again but should be ok from lunchtime onwards.

Sadly black dogs are overlooked in rescue and are less likely to be adopted for no other reason than their colour. This is regardless of their behaviour, breeding, personality, size or age 😢
