🐾 A Message From Me – The Dog Who Always Came Back… Until I Didn’t 🐾

Hi there.

I’m that dog you always saw trotting down the road. Tail wagging, nose to the ground.
Just doing my thing. Living my best life, they said.

“My dog’s fine – he always comes back,” my humans would say.

And I did.
Until the day I didn’t. 😱😭

That day started like any other.
I caught a scent and followed it.
I didn’t know one wrong step onto the road would be the end of my story.

💔 I never made it back.

❤️‍🩹 My family? They were heartbroken.
❤️‍🩹 My fur siblings? Waited by the door, not understanding why I never returned.
❤️‍🩹 The person who hit me? If they stopped, they now carry that trauma with them. If they didn’t… they left me there.
❤️‍🩹 Maybe their children were in the car. Maybe they saw it happen.
❤️‍🩹 A stranger found me. They cried as they called for help.
❤️‍🩹 Volunteers came out - again - hoping I’d be okay. But I wasn’t.

They lifted me gently, placing me in their car, doing the part of their role they hate the most. 😭😭

I might not be chipped, so I will go to a vet or police. More heartbroken people involved. ❤️‍🩹

❤️‍🩹 Someone made that awful phone call to my family… “We’re so sorry.”

👉 This isn’t just about me.

It’s about EVERY dog who was “fine” until they weren’t.
Every family who gambled with our lives.
Every volunteer who has to carry our broken bodies instead of reuniting wagging tails.
Every driver who can’t forget what they saw.
Every child who now asks why the doggy isn’t home anymore.

🔶 Please… don’t let your dog wander.
🔶 Don’t say “they always come back.”
Because one day… we don’t.

🧡 In memory of the ones who never made it home.

I would like to advise you all that unfortunatly I am having to increase my groom prices by £5 per groom, this will be from the 1st of April 2025. This reflects the higher rates over the past few years and aims to partly offset future increases. The price increase will also help me to maintain a high standard of service. If anyone would like to check the future price of their dog groom, do message or text me directly. I would also like to thank everyone for their understanding and support. Its not a nice thing to have to do as I know everyone is in the same boat just now, I have been open since January 2014 and only once have I increased my prices but unfortunatly as with most groomers I don't have an option. Sadly I have found 2 birds on our drive that have passed away, they are both finches, one is pure white with a red beak & one is grey, black & white...I think its a Java finch...these breeds are not wild in the uk so sadly they have likely escaped from someones damaged aviary during the storm 🥺 im very aware they could have come from miles away but im just hoping to give someone some closure, I have pics if needed 🥺🐥🐥

To all my clients due in with me tomorrow the 24th of January who have not yet cancelled

I am afraid I am taking the decision to close tomorrow & cancel ALL grooms. I live rural & I will not allow my clients to risk driving here.

All appontments will be rearranged asap, please message me with any dates that would work best.

Sorry to those of you who wanted to try but I just can't risk it.

Hopefully this wont be as bad as predicted but better safe than sorry.

Has anyone got any old decent sized rabbit/guinea pig cages going for free? I do a lot of rescuing & im running low on temp cages for new animals/ill animals, must be plastic/metal for easy cleaning...thank you in advance 🥰

In was delighted to give these 2 wonderful rescues a much needed pamper today! 🥰 they were both total stars! 🥰 they have well & truely landed on their paws! With their new owners & of course their beautiful new sister Meg! 🥰💖💙
