Handmade from sustainablly-sourced wood, my Fairy Doors are a unique and delightful keepsake for young and old. The doors have a quaint and rustic charm, making them an ideal gift for the person who has everything else! My doors are hand-cut, sanded, decorated free-hand using pyrography, then protected with several layers of yacht varnish, making them ideal for both indoors and outdoors. To compl

iment the doors I use a lovely selection of realistic artificial flowers, paint, hand-picked and dried moss, willow and coconut flower stems, hinges and handles and other embellishments to give the doors charm and character. I also make 'memorial' doors, and work with you to create something special, and which is the essence of a loved one, human or animal. All my fairy doors are individually handmade, so no two doors will ever be exactly the same. I enjoy working with the natural markings of the wood, and often incorporate the 'knots' etc into the design. The doors range from around 4 1/2 inches to 10 inches high, and can be as simple or ornate as you like. I always have a wide selection of doors ready-made, so please get in touch if you need something quickly. Would you guess that these doors all had a Stoke/potteries theme with ducks, pot banks, etc but, perhaps because I'm not doing any events around there now, they don't resonate the same.
Now they've been given new identities - I especially like doing Peter Rabbit.
I'll be bringing them to Stapeley Grange Christmas Fair tomorrow along with lots of other loveliness - hope to see you! x

There is an unwritten secret ’code’ that artisans share at the end of each event: ‘have you had a good day…?’ Loosely translated this means have you made a decent amount! I’d just just like to let you in on the secret: I had a very good day, and I believe that every single one of my artisan neighbours had very good days, too…!
Often thought crass to talk about money, it’s not very often that everyone has a ‘good day’, but today’s Christmas Market at Delamere Station House blew us away… with only around twelve stalls there was no duplication, only tables with a great selection of handcrafted items - nothing from Temu, or mass- produced.
My kinky gingers (of course!) were my best seller and it never fails to brighten my day when I see the smiles and hear the laughs when they’re spotted! Talking of which, one couple said they’re going to do a ‘where’s wally’-type hunt for kinky gingers on the tree!
I got some orders sewn, but I’ve definitely got to make some more gingers before next week!
It’s estimated over a thousand came along today, so Thankyou to everyone who gave me their time (and money) and made the day pass like a whirlwind.
Now, it’s time for a bath then a lovely tea cooked by the grumpy gnome! ###

Our Story

Handmade from new and sustainably-sourced wood, my Fairy Doors are a unique and delightful keepsake for young and old, and suitable for any occasion! I cut, sand and decorate all of my doors, and protect them by finishing with yacht varnish: this makes the doors suitable for outside. Doors can also be finished with outdoor gloss paint in a variety of colours. These are a delightful addition to any home or garden, and have a real magical and rustic charm. Each door is unique, so no two doors will ever be exactly the same. They can be placed underneath the stairs, outside a bedroom, against a wall, under a bush or fixed to a tree. They come complete with a ring for hanging, or can be fastened directly to where they are to be positioned. The doors come in a variety of sizes, from approximately 5 inches to 10 inches high, and approximately 3/4 inch thickness. Being made from real wood, and not MDF, they can have quirky markings and colourings - this just adds to their uniqueness and makes them all the more life-like.

Doors are very reasonably priced, from £8 upwards, dependent on size and design.
