🐾 Why regular grooming is so important 🐾

This lovely pup came to us today with quite a heavily matted coat. Sadly, once a coat becomes matted, brushing isn’t enough, and the kindest, safest option is often to clip it short and start again. ❤️

Matted fur isn’t just untidy it can:
✂️ Pull tightly on the skin, causing discomfort.
🌡️ Trap heat and moisture, leading to skin irritation.
🦠 Hide sores, lumps or parasites.
🚶 Restrict movement if left untreated.

The good news? Once the matted coat was removed, this gorgeous boy looked and felt so much better… and we think he’s looking rather handsome! 🥰🐶

Regular grooming every6 weeks (or more often for curly and wool coats) helps keep your dog’s coat healthy, comfortable and mat-free. Brushing at home between appointments also makes a huge difference.

If you’re struggling to keep on top of your dog’s coat, don’t worry we’re always happy to offer advice and help before matting becomes a problem. ❤️
