Today we had our Canine First Aid refresher course with - Gotta keep updated on all the important information to keep your gorgeous doggos safe with me! ❤️ I even got to practice my bandage wrapping on the sweet Bonnie who was a beautiful patient!

Heatwaves are tricky when you're boarding a Bernese Mountain Dog. Early and late, shorter walks are essential with an avoidance of running around to keep them cool. One of the ways we got round this was a lovely late walk to watch the sunset. We walked to our lookout point and a chill to watch the sunset with our lovely doggos, then a walk back ❤️

Hot days means early walks with shade and water, home visits, paddling pools, indoor games and enrichment and frozen treats and ice chews for Ruh and my boarder 🥰 It's been a hot one today! So grateful to my owners who put their dogs wellbeing before convenience and routine and have allowed me amend times, cancel walks or change walks to visits this week!

Super important information for this bank holiday and coming week.
All walks of mine are being moved forward or cancelled to avoid the high temps and anything post midday are now visits for this week!
Dogs health always comes first to me ❤️

We hope everyone is enjoying the warm weather ☀️🐶 Please take extra care with your dogs in the heat.

☀️ Walk early in the morning before temperatures rise
☀️ Avoid hot pavements – if it’s too hot for your hand, it’s too hot for their paws!
☀️ Make sure they have access to plenty of fresh water
☀️ Use cooling mats, fans, and keep them in shaded, well-ventilated areas
☀️ Make sure cars are cool before taking your pet out
☀️Never leave animals in parked cars
☀️Never cover your dog with a wet towel, as this can trap heat

⚠️ If you think your dog may have heatstroke, cool them immediately with cool (not cold) water and contact your vet straight away
