☀️ Rapid Cooling Saves Lives | Wet then Vet ☀️
We’re heading into a spell of warmer weather, and it’s so important to keep our dogs safe and comfortable in the heat.

Here are a few reminders to help your dog stay cool, calm, and cared for:

🔥 Avoid Heatstroke Risk
• Skip the long walks. Early morning or late evening toilet breaks only.
• Don’t over-exercise. Even a short play session can be too much on hot days.
• Keep an eye on signs of overheating – excessive panting, restlessness, confusion, bright red gums, vomiting, or collapsing.

🚨 If You Suspect Heatstroke

Act fast.
Wet your dog thoroughly – focus on their belly, inner legs, and chest. Submerge them in a paddling pool or trough if possible.

Then get them to the vet straight away.
Don’t delay. Rapid cooling can save their life.

👉 Wet then Vet.

🧠 Boredom Busters for Hot Days

Keeping your dog mentally stimulated without physical strain is key. Try:
• Scent games around the house or garden
• Treat scatter or snuffle mats
• Short indoor training sessions
• Licki-mats or Kongs with frozen fillings
• DIY dog ice pops: freeze dog-safe stock with carrots, treats or kibble

💦 Cooling Tips
• A shaded paddling pool
• Cool, damp towels on the floor
• Constant access to fresh water
• Shade-seeking games instead of sun-basking

Let’s help our dogs enjoy the sunshine safely 💙🐶

Hi,

We are Steph and Charlotte, we have lived in the Adlington area for the last 40 years.

Steph has been married to her husband, Tony, for over 30 years, where they have worked together in their businesses whilst also raising their 3 daughters, including Charlotte.

We all consider ourselves fortunate to live in such a beautiful area and dogs have been a part of our family along with a wide menagerie of other animals.
