EARLY SEASON POND DEALS
Now is a good time to perform some maintenance on your pond in preparation for the season starting properly over the coming weeks. You can service your pond pump(s), clean or renew filters, replace UVC tubes, test water quality, and start feeding your fish a cool weather, wheatgerm-based diet (sparingly in the mornings only).

🌷🐟 SPRING IS HERE! 🐟🌷

💷💸WHEATGERM POND FOOD OFFER! 💸💷

Now that the days are getting longer and the temperatures are starting to creep up, you may be thinking about starting to feed your pond fish again. All pond fish (except sturgeon and sterlets) should not be fed when the water temperature is below 8 degrees centigrade, this is because fish are cold blooded and cannot digest any food that that eat at these temperatures. If they do eat, it sits around in their digestive tract and can cause infections, even death. Now that water temperatures are slowly starting to rise, it is the perfect time to consider introducing cold weather feeds. Between 8 and 15 degrees centigrade pond fish should be fed a wheatgerm feed. Wheatgerm is a low protein, high fibre diet for pond fish that is easily digested in cooler temperatures and, at The Pet Tank, we have a wide range of wheatgerm feeds to suit every type of pond fish. Who we are

The Pet Tank is a 5 star rated, independent, family-run pet shop committed to promoting and maintaining the highest standards of pet care, nutrition, and health while providing good, old-fashioned customer service.

Andy Needham (Proprietor) established The Pet Tank in the Summer of 2013 following the acquisition of The Fodder Shop/Lowestoft Pet and Reptile Centre. Andy has a strong background in the aquatics and pet trade industry and has always had a keen interest in fishkeeping which he is happy to share with others.

We sell a wide variety of pet foods and accessories, fish, small animals, and reptiles and in the warmer months, we have a well stocked pond department. If we don’t have what you require, then please don’t hesitate to ask if we can order it for you.

We are open five days a week from 9:00 to 5:30 (Tuesday to Saturday). With the launch of our website and online shop (www.thepettank.co.uk) we are now able to offer our customers a wider variety of products with new lines being added all the time. We also offer a free local delivery service (terms and conditions apply).
