☀️ just some information you may not know☀️

It’s completely understandable to think that clipping your dog short will help keep them cooler, but for many breeds, that’s actually not the best option.

Double-coated breeds have a coat that acts as natural insulation. It helps keep them warm in winter and protects them from the heat in summer by regulating their body temperature and shielding their skin from the sun.

For many of these breeds, a thorough undercoat de-shed or hand strip (where appropriate) is a much safer and healthier option than clipping the coat off. Removing the loose, dead coat allows air to circulate while leaving the protective coat intact.

Every dog is different, and the right grooming approach depends on their breed, coat type, age, health and lifestyle. My priority is always your dog’s comfort, wellbeing and coat health, so I’ll always recommend what’s best for them rather than simply taking the coat short.

Let’s help keep our dogs cool, comfortable and protected this summer. 🐾💛

Good morning, this is Bertie 🐶🤍

Bertie is a lovely reminder of something that is really important to me when it comes to grooming your dog’s comfort and happiness come first.

I work around the dog in front of me, taking my time and paying attention to how they are feeling. Every dog is different, and I never want grooming to feel like something they simply have to endure. I also take their health, age and mobility into consideration, adapting the groom where needed to make sure they are as comfortable as possible throughout their visit.

Bertie enjoys coming in, enjoys his groom, and most importantly, he’s happy to leave and that means everything to me 🤍

I want your dogs to feel safe, comfortable and happy when they come to me. Because a good groom isn’t just about how they look when they leave… it’s about how they feel too 🐾

🌞🐾 Your dog’s comfort and safety will always come first. 🐾🌞
With the warmer weather here, I just wanted to reassure all of my lovely customers that I’m doing everything I can to keep your dogs safe, cool and comfortable during their pamper appointments.
Every dog is offered fresh water throughout their groom, and I make sure they have plenty of breaks if needed. I also keep a close eye on each dog’s comfort, as no groom is ever more important than their wellbeing.
To help avoid the hottest part of the day, I’ve been rearranging appointments where possible to mornings and later evenings. Once it gets to around 1pm, the temperature can really start to rise, and I’d much rather adjust my schedule than risk any dog becoming too warm or uncomfortable.
I know changing appointments isn’t always ideal, so I just want to say a huge thank you to each and every one of you for your understanding, patience and flexibility. It really does mean the world, and it allows me to continue putting your dogs’ safety first.
Thank you for trusting me with your precious pups. Their welfare will always be my number one priority. ❤️🐶

Just a little update for all my lovely customers.

Unfortunately, the sickness and diarrhoea bug that hit our house on Monday isn’t quite done with us yet. My little boy seemed to be improving over the weekend, but he’s now been sick again and the diarrhoea has returned, so it’s been a very long night.

I want to apologise to anyone whose appointment has been affected. I know how important it is to get your dogs groomed, especially with the hot weather, and I feel incredibly frustrated that this bug keeps throwing us backwards just when I think we’re getting on top of it.

Please know I’m doing everything I can to rearrange appointments and I’m hoping to offer some evening appointments this week where possible to get as many dogs in as I can and minimise disruption.

Thank you all so much for your patience, understanding and kind messages. It really is appreciated more than you know. ❤️

☀️🐶 PLEASE KEEP YOUR DOGS SAFE IN THIS HEAT 🐶☀️

With temperatures rising, even a short walk or a few minutes in a car can become extremely dangerous for our dogs. Dogs can overheat very quickly and heatstroke can sadly be fatal. 💔

🚫 Please avoid walking dogs during the hottest parts of the day
🐾 Pavements can burn paws in seconds
🚗 Never leave dogs in cars — even with windows open
💧 Make sure they always have access to fresh water and shade

Signs of heatstroke can include:
• Excessive panting
• Drooling
• Weakness or wobbling
• Vomiting
• Rapid heartbeat
• Collapse or disorientation

If your dog seems too hot:
❄️ Move them somewhere cool immediately
💦 Use cool water (not ice cold)
📞 Contact your vet as soon as possible

Early morning or late evening walks are safest during hot weather. Please think twice before taking dogs out in the heat — if it feels too hot for you, it’s even hotter for them. ❤️

Thank you everyone for your patience and understanding while I work through messages and appointments ❤️

Unfortunately after the dog show on Sunday I became really poorly, and it has only gotten worse over the last couple of days. Because of this, I have made the difficult decision to cancel today’s dogs so I can properly rest and recover.

I’m hoping to be back in the salon tomorrow, but I just wanted to apologise for the slow replies and any inconvenience caused. Thank you all so much for your kindness, patience and continued support it really does mean a lot 🐾

Meet my newest furry friend Roo the Jack Russell Terrier 🐾💙

Roo came in for a handstrip today and I really enjoyed grooming this little fella! Such a lovely boy 🥰

A big thank you to his owner for trusting me with him ✂️🐶

I’m away this weekend heading off to Edinburgh for a dog show, so I’ll be back Monday and back in the salon Wednesday. I’ll still try to reply to messages as quickly as I can — thank you everyone 😊

Hello everyone ☀️

We’re finally having a lovely run of good weather — hope you’re all enjoying it! Just a little reminder to please be careful when walking your dogs in the heat 🐾 If it’s too hot for you, it’s too hot for them… pavement temperatures can catch us out more than we think!

I also just want to say a big thank you to everyone who’s been so understanding and flexible this week while everything seemed to happen all at once 🙈 I really do appreciate you all moving things around and your continued support ❤️

And here’s gorgeous Karma for you 😍 his very first haircut! We just had to try out a little top knot before giving him his trim — too cute not to!

With the good weather coming in my diary has gone mad in nearly booked for May so please book in advance to avoid disappointment thank you as always 🤍♥️
