We cannot thank everyone enough for the incredible support, kind words and messages we have received. We are genuinely overwhelmed by the response following the unfortunate situation yesterday, and we truly appreciate every single person who has taken the time to reach out and support us.

Just a small update: we have now requested payment in a professional manner. If payment is not received, we will have no option but to consider the appropriate next steps available to us. We have retained all relevant messages, photographs and evidence, and we are confident that we acted professionally and appropriately throughout the situation.

It is extremely disheartening that we may have to take matters further, as this is not something we ever wanted to do. However, we feel it is important to stand by the professional service and care we provided.

It is with sadness that we feel the need to write this following a situation today.

Two large-breed dogs came into the salon for grooming with severely matted coats and in a very poor condition. Unfortunately, due to the severity of the matting, we had no option but to remove a significant amount of their coat.

The welfare and comfort of every dog will always be our priority over appearance. Although the owner requested that we attempt to brush out the matting, we explained this wasn’t possible in a lot of areas and waited for permission before removing the matted coat. Attempting to brush out severe matting can be extremely painful and distressing for a dog something we will not do
The owner accused us of traumatising the dogs. We understand that after having a heavily matted coat removed, some dogs may initially feel different or unsettled. A severely matted coat can be restrictive, heavy and uncomfortable, and once it has been shaved away, the dog can suddenly experience a completely different sensation and may need a little time to adjust.

Our priority throughout the entire grooming process was to relieve the dogs of their severely matted coats in the safest and kindest way possible.

Following the groom, the owner was unhappy with the appearance of the dogs and contacted us in an intimidating manner, threatening to post photographs on social media claiming that we had done a poor job. Despite us explaining throughout the process that the condition of the dogs’ coats meant shaving was necessary for their welfare, the owner is now refusing to pay for the grooms.

We take great pride in the care we provide and will always make decisions based on what is best for the dogs in our care, even when those decisions may not result in the appearance an owner had hoped for.

Unfortunately, following today’s experience, all new customers will now be required to pay a 50% booking fee when appointment is confirmed
