Cole&Friends Animal Rescue

Cole&Friends Animal Rescue We are a small, dedicated team, run entirely by volunteers who work from their own homes.

Cats come to us for all kinds of reasons: some have been lost or abandoned and are living on the streets, some are signed over to us by owners who can no longer care for them, others are rescued from dubious online sellers. We place all our cats with a foster carer so we can get to know their needs and make sure they are in the best of health as we prepare them for their new, permanent home.

Two months ago, Lola was terrified of the world. Today, she had her first bath. 🤍🐾

When Lola came into our care, we honestly didn’t know how she had survived.

Her skin was in an unimaginable condition. Sores, scabs, swelling, wounds and cracked paws. The vet told us they had never seen a Sphynx in a condition like hers.

But her physical wounds weren’t the only thing she was carrying.

When we first tried to bathe her, Lola was absolutely petrified. She shook with fear and even peed herself.

We don’t know what happened to her before she was rescued.

We may never know.

But we knew one thing: we couldn’t let her fear become her future.

So we took it slowly.

For two months, we gave her patience instead of pressure. Treats instead of fear. Gentle hands instead of force.

And today, her foster brother showed her that bath time could be safe. He had his bath first, Lola watched… and then it was her turn.

And she did it. 🥹

No panic.

No shaking.

Just a brave little girl surrounded by treats, finally learning that she is safe.

And look at her skin now. 🤍

It’s so much better than when she arrived.

Lola still has a long road ahead. Next week she’s going back to the vet so we can check her skin and make sure her treatment is working.

But today, we celebrated a tiny miracle.

Because sometimes recovery doesn’t look like a dramatic transformation.

Sometimes it looks like a frightened little cat taking her first bath without being terrified.

Lola survived whatever her past was. Now we’re trying to give her a future worth surviving for.

Her GoFundMe is still only halfway there, and her next vet bill is coming.

If you can donate, even a few pounds can help us continue her treatment. If you can’t, please follow Lola’s journey and share this post. You can help us reach the people who can.

Please help us show Lola that her life from now on can be nothing but love. 🤍

Lola had her first bath. 🤍🐾

And if you remember our last update, you’ll know just how big this moment is.

The first time Lola experienced water, she was absolutely petrified. She shook. She was so frightened that she peed herself.

But today was different.

We took it incredibly slowly.

First, her foster sphinx brother had his bath. Lola watched him the whole time, seeing that nothing bad happened. He was calm, he got treats, and most importantly… he survived. 😂

Then it was Lola’s turn.

We filled the bath experience with treats, gentle hands and lots of reassurance. We didn’t rush her. We let her take it at her own pace.

And somehow…

she did it. 🥹

No shaking.
No panic.
No trying to escape.

Just Lola, finally learning that water doesn’t have to mean something scary.

It took two months to get here.

Two months of patience, trust and showing her, again and again, that she is safe now.

And look at her skin. 🤍

It is already so much better than when she came to us. She’s still got a long way to go, but this little girl is fighting every single day.

Next week, Lola is going back to the vet so we can check her skin and see how well she’s responding to treatment.

And, of course, that means another vet bill for our little rescue.

Our GoFundMe is currently only halfway to where it needs to be.

If you can spare anything to help us continue Lola’s treatment, we’d be incredibly grateful. And if you can’t donate, sharing her story helps more than you know.

Sometimes recovery isn’t one huge miracle.

Sometimes it’s a tiny, wet little cat sitting in a bath, surrounded by treats, finally realising:

“I’m safe now.” 🤍🐾

A gentle reminder that every rescue journey has a few twists in the road… 🩹✨

Our handsome boy Seamus is currently in a temporary foster spot, but he is now in urgent need of a new foster home to settle into. Seamus spent years living on the streets learning to navigate the world on his own, and while he’s making wonderful progress learning to trust humans, he needs a quiet, calm environment where he can truly bloom.

We are looking for a cat-free home for Seamus, as he tested positive for FIV (Feline Immunodeficiency Virus).

We know the letters “FIV” can sound intimidating, but please don’t let them scare you!

FIV cannot be passed to humans or dogs. It is strictly a cat-to-cat virus.

It is primarily spread through deep, penetrating bite wounds (which is why a single-cat home or a home with other friendly FIV+ cats is ideal).

FIV-positive cats can live long, happy, normal lives with basic care, good food, and lots of love. They just need an indoor life to stay safe!

Seamus has survived the streets, and now he deserves a warm, safe corner of the world where he can finally relax.
Can you offer Seamus a safe haven, or share this post so his future foster family can find him? 🏡🖤

Filling your feed with a little sunshine, because these two are guaranteed to sweep you right off your feet 💛

Cookie and Nougat are a gorgeous 3/4 month old sibling duo who bring the ultimate mix of playful energy and sweet purrs wherever they go ✨

Cookie is a cheeky, playful boi who becomes the biggest cuddle bug once he settles in. He is a huge fan of belly rubs, gives the most enthusiastic head bumps, and will gently remind you when it is dinner time with his cute little meows and loud purrs 🥹

Nougat is our stunning girl with her iconic little fringe 💅🏻 She is a tiny bit shy initially, but earning her affection feels like pure magic. Once she warms up, she will curl up right beside you with the sweetest, most curious gaze. She is also a proper TV enthusiast who loves watching football matches and David Attenborough documentaries 🐦 📺

Together, these two spend their days playing football, running parkour loops around the flat, and having hilarious little wrestling matches before crashing together for a nap 🐾

Cookie and Nougat are looking for a forever family to love them equally. If you would like to open your heart to this adorable pair, please email us at [email protected] 💌

Cats may have selective hearing…

But somewhere out there, there’s a cat waiting to hear the words:

“You’re coming home with me.” 🥹🐾

Fostering or adopting isn’t just about giving a cat a home. It’s giving them safety, love, a warm bed, and someone who finally puts their needs first.

And yes… they’ll probably forget everything you tell them within 3 seconds.

But they’ll remember what it feels like to be loved. ❤️

Your future house mascot could be waiting in rescue right now. 🏡🐱

Could you be their foster or forever home?

I’m baffled by homes with no pets.

Who is judging you from across the room???
Who is screaming for food despite being fed 4 minutes ago??? 😭🐈

If your home is currently missing a tiny dictator, perhaps it’s time to foster or adopt. 😂❤️

You could literally save a life AND gain a roommate who pays zero rent.

Come on. Your house mascot is waiting. 🐾🏡
