You need to have a good light to grow green walls in a shrimp tanks. I’ve been using my custom built LED light for many years with great results. In the shrimp rack I normally attache LED strips to the shelf above the tank but for top tanks I’m using aluminium housing. I always apply thin coat of clear silicone on the light to make them water proof. They can even submerge into the water. I connect my light to WiFi LED controller so I can connect them to my phone and adjust brightness and setup a timer from my phone. It has a function of sunrise/sunset which I use. It mimics the nature and the shrimp love it! 🦐 🦐 🦐

Another tank setup with KW Shrimps method. After seeing 1000s of his rare shrimp I decided to copy his style. Now I’m slowly converting all my tanks to half wall ugf with sponge at the bottom and some sponge filters for extra filtration

I tested SL Aqua soil so you guys don't have to. I set up a new tank with this soil and tried to breed some shrimp for 10 weeks. The result quite surprised me.
