Next on our Dog Friendly Cocktail menu is our 'Paw- star Martini' just in time for Martini Day today! Save this video for the next time you're making some refreshing summer drinks and want to include your pooch!☀️

Recipe:
-60g of Blackberries
-60g of Blueberries
-100ml of unsweetened Coconut milk
-Generous splash of water
Blend together!

🚨Some important reminders:
-These cocktails should be considered an occasional treat for your pooch and always served in moderation.
-Make sure the portions are given in small amounts. They shouldn’t replace water as a primary source of hydration.
-Make sure the portions are spread out over several days. You can freeze them and save for later.
-Some dogs could have sensitivities to the ingredients, so they may not be suitable for all pooches. If you’re concerned about giving your dog new foods, speak to your vet.
-Glassware is not to be used when presenting to your dogs, we’ve used plastic cups.
-When making our recipes, reduce your dog’s usual food portion so they’re not overfed.

Sometimes a dog just needs some extra support to thrive 💛

Alfie was one of those dogs. He was a young boy who had some challenging behaviours – he didn’t enjoy being handled, was shy around new people, and would guard his toys. Dogs Trust Leeds put together a dedicated training plan, including cooperative handling training, to build his confidence again.

Thanks to consistent input from the team, this clever Collie began to make friends and would happily wear a muzzle during vet visits.

Alfie became one of our Underdogs, as it took longer than average to find him a match. But it was worth the wait when, after 686 days with us, he was swept off his paws by Damien and Linda! They understood how important it was to move at Alfie’s pace and didn’t rush him.

Alfie’s story shows how the right support can transform a dog’s life. Did you know that expert support isn’t just for dogs in our care? If you have any questions about your dog's behaviour, whether they were adopted from us or not, our Behaviour Services are here to help: https://bit.ly/3O4aLTY
