DCGR CALENDAR 2026 - APRIL ENTRIES

April is all about group shots. Greyhounds with greyhounds or with other dogs. Three photo entries each please, and try to make them as clear and bright as you can.

A really big thanks to Carol Rawlins of Pawperfect for Pets in Moffat for thinking of us and donating LOADS of goodies for our Homeless Hounds. Today was a good day what with these goodies as well as 2 of our hounds now out of kennels and into what we hope will be their forever homes.

🐶💥 Dan the Man is ready for his forever home! 💥🐶

Say hello to Dan – a 3-year-old greyhound with a cheeky grin, and a love for zoomies! 🐾💨

This confident, playful lad is always up for an adventure and LOVES car rides, cuddles, and garden zooms. He’s full of energy but settles well once he’s out and about.

Dan’s a retired racer, so he’s not a fan of small fluffies 🐇🐱, but he’s fab with other greyhounds and currently kennels sweetly with his brother. 🐕❤️🐕

He’s had a little taste of home life and is ready to learn the rest with YOU! 🏡

DCGR CALENDAR 2026 - MARCH ENTRIES

Mad March is all about silly greyhounds pulling faces or doing bonkers things! Please add up to three photos of your greyhound pal/s that will make other people smile.

Please no roaching - we'll have a whole month for that!

The next Greyhound Get Together and Walk will be the annual Great Global Greyhound Walk! This is an international event with walks on the same day all over the world 🌎

We're inviting as many sighthound owners and lovers as possible to join us for a walk round Bitts Park in Carlisle.

Meet at the largest carpark by Carlisle Castle (CA3 8UL) ready to set off at 1100 on Sunday 28 September 2025. It's about £2-3 to park.

The walk is about 2 miles round the playing fields and park, finishing at T&G Container Cafe which sells great snacks, coffee, doggy ice cream, and has toilets.

AND at the end we'll be taking a group photo which will be the cover of our fab 2026 DCGR calendar! Hope to see everyone there 🥰🐾

February is the month of love. Let's see your photos of pups cuddling other dogs or pets, or you/your family being lovey dovey with your greyhound.

Three entries each max, and make sure any human on the photo consents to being on a calendar if you win.

The DCGR Calendar 2026 needs you!

Every other day in September we'll ask you to submit your photo entries for the calendar - first is January 2026 and the theme is cosy jumpers and coats!

Please add your photo entries to the comments, three per person max, and include the name of the dog/s. At the end of September our panel will choose their favourite and it will be on the January page of our fab new calendar!

Fab Greyhound Get Together and Walk to Lochmaben today 18 greyhounds and one fluffy lurcher! We missed the bad weather but not the fabulous ice cream, although had to apologise for the greyt trip hazard outside the gelateria when Rock It decided he needed a power nap 😆

Next month is the Great Global Greyhound Walk in Bitts Park, Carlisle. Details to follow. At that walk we'll be taking the cover photo for the DCGR calendar 2026, and all through September we will be asking for your photo entries to be in the calendar! Each month will be themed and you can enter 3 photos per month. Judges will decide the final shots with the calendar available from the October walk. Watch this space!!

REMINDER! The next monthly walk is tomorrow 11am at Lochmaben. It's slightly longer than usual and waterproofs/doggy jackets may be required. Make sure you check the parking location in the link below.

This walk is in Lochmaben, Dumfriesshire, DG11 1NN making a circular route around Castle Loch including woodlands, Lochmaben Castle ruins and stunning scenery.
