We’re excited to say that we’ve teamed up with Lee Lunt Professional Dog Advice & Training and Lee will be holding a monthly Dog Training & Behaviour Clinic here at Pet Shack!

Lee will be here talking all things dogs, behaviour, training, mindset, and how to create a better, more balanced life with your dog. 🙏

Saturday’s clinic was a fantastic success! 👌

‘…We met some truly lovely dogs and owners, shared lots of laughs and advice, and even helped a few pooches ditch their pinch collars tools that sadly had been recommended by others, even on used on dogs whose baseline was actually anxiety, not defiance. We focused not just on addressing behaviour (symptom) but on understanding the root cause and showing how calm, loose-lead walking can be achieved by working with emotions, not just commands. Because true training is about connection, not control…’

This might be an unpopular view, especially as we've seen this issue really gather momentum over the last couple of years - perpetuated by multiple sources. It's a conversation we have multiple times a day and when we get down to it and discuss other elements of the diet; it's usually very likely something else causing the suspected 'allergy'...

Not all dogs are allergic to chicken — let’s clear that up! 🐔❌🐾

Many times when dogs are itchy, have red paws, smelly ears, or flaky skin, it’s blamed on chicken. But here’s the truth: true food allergies in dogs are rare.

👉 What’s more likely? Yeast overgrowth.

Yeast thrives on high-carb, processed diets, eating high-carb human food, and imbalanced gut health — not from chicken itself.
