City & Guilds L3 Qualified (Distinction) My name is James Holberry, ‘Dog Barber’ and co-founder of Holberry Hounds with my wife Joanne and my Patterdale Terrier Rodney. We currently live and run Holberry Hounds in the village of Linthwaite in the Colne Valley of Huddersfield. I have lived in Huddersfield my whole life, predominantly within t

he Colne Valley, yet spending much of my youth working on my Grandfathers farm on the outskirts of Halifax, West Yorks. From an early age I have been fascinated by the animal world and have grown up around them, especially horses and dogs! As a very young boy I learned how to ride horses and often competed in regular shows. Dogs were such an important part of my childhood; going off and exploring the countryside with the dogs at every opportunity, what more could a young lad ask for!Dog grooming is a career that I have wanted to pursue for a number of years, however life can take you in any direction as I’m sure we all know! I am so grateful for the opportunity to pursue my ambition of being a successful ‘Dog Barber’ and sharing my skills with the canine community. Holberry Hounds is a chapter in my life that I am extremely proud of. It has brought my family and I many new friends (both human and furry!) and memories to cherish.Thank you for reading a little bit about me and I look forward to welcoming both you and your four legged friends in to the Holberry Hounds family!

There's nothing quite like a good old sing song!

Believe it or not, Pippa actually does enjoy coming to see us and we love her to bits!♥️🫶🏻

This is just one of her quirks that she sometimes likes to sing mid groom, another tactic to get out of having a haircut, or she just wants to entertain us! 🎤👩‍🎤🤣

Happy Monday everyone, hope you all had a fabulous weekend! ♥️

We spent ours at the Great British Grooming Show and we are excited to share with you all that James is now a champion groomer in Asian styling after bagging his final 1st place with stunning little Bilbo!

Not only did he get 1st place, he then went on to win Reserve Salon groomer of the day which is a huge achievement! 🥇🏆🥳

I don’t think it’s actually quite sunk in for him yet, he’s just smiling from ear to ear in a daze. I think he was even smiling in his sleep last night!

This competition is where it all started with the beautiful little Tommy Ti**le, this show holds a special place in our hearts so getting that final win here means so much to us! 🥰
