Next month marks Chow Bella's 20th anniversary, can you believe that?!

When I started out it was definitely a little side hustle. I worked full time in publishing at the time (for Dorling Kindersley) and would make the bowls evenings and weekends, and spend lunch hours queuing up to post them.

I feel so lucky that it grew into a full time business. Has it been easy? No. Self employment is never easy, and economic downturns, Covid, wars, tariffs, Trump, none of those help.

But, I'm still here, plugging away doing something I love. I'll never be a millionaire in financial terms, but the gain in quality of life is massive.

My message to you? Go do the thing that brings you joy. Life is short. 🥰

Lately I’ve found myself drawn to warmer, earthier pieces in the studio.

This little trio feels very much like that — a cocker bowl in that rich terracotta glaze, alongside two herb planters for oregano and mint. Useful things, simple things, but the sort that make a kitchen or garden corner feel just that bit more considered.

Perhaps it’s the state of the world, but I do think many of us are craving things that feel a little more grounding right now.
