🐾Clever Things your Dogs do with You!🐾

The photos and stories of the clever things your dog does with you are coming in. Today we are going to share Mark’s story with his two bearded collie girls, Drew and Evelyn.

Mark is a self confessed running enthusiast.

Its wonderful to see his travelling companions, Drew and Evelyn in their fit and athletic form following on behind.

Both girls are great examples of pure bred working dogs with sound conformation. Able to follow Mark and his team mates for anything up to 20 miles over vast terrain in the Brecon Beacons.

“Running has been an obsession for the past decade I would say and I’ve been actively racing for MMRT for the past 5 years!

Drew and Evelyn run with us whenever the training is off road, fell, mountain or cross country and have been known to do up to 20 miles!

They love it and certainly know the difference between “on road” shoes and “off road” as they only become excited when I put the off roaders on!

My team mates love the girls!! Running also helps with the fire service too, as fitness is key.

I never use leads. The girls instinctively know when I’m running they must always remain behind me.

If they do travel along a road or have to traverse one, the command “close” will keep them on my heels.

If I stop to cross a road, they automatically halt before I give the “ok” command to cross.”

Hey Wagglers!!👋

Having supported Sam and her epic cycling 🚵‍♀️ challenge for Medical Detection dogs 🐕‍🦺, here at Waggleantics HQ, we’ve been reflecting 🤔 about how versatile, clever and brave our faithful companions are...

How many jobs and activities that dogs 🐕 support and help with, in a huge variety of roles, can you think of?

Your dogs at home curled up beside you on the sofa, may not be the expert sniffer bomb 💣 disposal dogs or the ones that rescue in an 🚨 or 🔥 or chief shepherds 🐑🐏 however we know there are super heroes, champions, generally “good eggs” amongst them.

We would love to see what they can do, how they have supported you and how you guys enjoy your time together.

Any activity you’ve had a go at or maybe something that your dog was bred to do in years gone by - we would love to see your photos.

Even our poster gal Fraggle has had a go at something .. (man) person trailing - which was really good fun!
