☀️HOT WEATHER WARNING☀️

☀️ As a dog walker, it’s important to PRIORITISE THE SAFETY and well-being of the dogs in my care, especially during hot weather ☀️

🐾 Hydration is Key: I always carry fresh water for the dogs, on person and in the car.

🐾 Know the Signs of Overheating: When clients are walking their own dogs, be aware of the symptoms of heat exhaustion, such as excessive panting, drooling, weakness, or disorientation.

🐾 Shorter Walks: Walks will be shorter during extreme heat, and time given to doing low energy enrichment, so your dog doesn’t get too hot.

🐾 Timing is Important: Walking during cooler parts of the day—early mornings or later evenings—to avoid the hottest temperatures.

🐾 Rest Breaks in the Shade: During walks, we take appropriate breaks in shaded areas. This helps dogs cool down and gives them a chance to hydrate.

🐾 Dog-Friendly Products: You can buy Dog-friendly cooling vests, mats or a splash pool, which can help keep dogs cool during warmer weather.

By providing this information, I can help ensure that both the dogs and their owners feel safe and enjoy their time outdoors, even in warmer weather.
