My Pets Vets

My Pets Vets My Pets Vets is part of Linnaeus Veterinary Ltd (A Mars Company). We offer 24 hour emergency care, and are the only vets in the Leigh area to do so.

The My Pets Vets Story:

We decided to open our own practice in order to provide the high standards and quality of care we feel every animal and their owner deserves. The welfare of our patients is always of highest priority, and we make every effort to ensure that the animals entrusted to our care are treated as we would treat our own pets. To enable us to do this we transformed an old pub into i

nto a modern, flexible veterinary practice, and opened our doors on 19th September 2011. We always have staff on standby, even if it’s out of hours. We know emergencies don’t wait for a convenient time, and want our clients to know they can rely on us whatever the time of day. We knew having a new modern practice was only the first step, and set out to build the best nursing and support team possible. We now have a team who show the most friendly and compassionate service possible, while delivering the highest standards of medical care. We feel preventative healthcare is very important, not only for your pets'; but also for your family and your home. We endeavour to advise you of the best practices available to keep your pets' healthy and happy, and offer free clinics for a wide range of issues.

🔔Is it a Veterinary Emergency?🔔

We understand how worrying it is when your pet is unwell. To make sure we're available for those who need urgent care, it's important to know what might be considered an emergency, and what isn't.

🔴These are just SOME examples of situations that may require urgent attention:

• Breathing difficulties
• Heavy bleeding or open wounds
• Seizures or sudden collapse
• Suspected poisoning
• Unable to urinate
• Severe pain or bloated abdomen

This is not a full list, so if you're unsure whether its an emergency, please still give us a call - we'd rather you check!

🟡Non-urgent examples (please avoid calling out of hours for these):

• Repeat prescriptions
• General advice or vaccination queries
• Booking routine appointments
• Nail clips or a**l glands

Please help us keep our phone lines free for genuine emergencies. Use our website for routine requests like prescription or booking appointments where possible.☎️

Thank you for helping us prioritise pets in urgent need.💗

Daisy's Big Day💗💤

Daisy came in for her second vaccination and her monthly flea & worming treatment. She even fell asleep in our consult room!🥺

Keeping up to date with monthly parasite prevention is really important - even if your pet only stays indoors or in the garden!

✅Fleas can live in the environment and easily be brought in on shoes, clothes or other pets
✅Worms (such as roundworm, tapeworm and lungworm) can cause serious health issues if left untreated
✅Some parasites are zoonotic - meaning they can affect humans too (especially children)
✅Monthly treatments help protect your pet and your household year-round!

If you're not sure which parasite prevention your pet needs, our team is always happy to help ☺️
