Two airlines fly horses to Japan for slaughter: Korean Air and All Nippon Airways (ANA). Both offer passenger flights as well as cargo services and are vulnerable to public opinion.

We feel it’s time to confront the airlines directly for facilitating the transport of gentle draft horses to their deaths. Most of these horses are purpose-bred in Canada only to be sent by air to Japan for slaughter. Their sole reason for having been born is evidently to provide a raw horsemeat dish called “basashi” to wealthy diners in expensive niche restaurants halfway across the world.

It is completely inhumane to deprive horses of food and water for up to 28 hours or more and to imprison them in small wooden crates for the duration of a long, terrifying journey that often results in falls, injuries and sometimes even deaths.

The airline companies are part and parcel of the problem – they enable this cruel industry to go on! They need to hear from concerned people around the world – a chorus of voices demanding an end to the exports of live horses for slaughter. Ask Korean Air and All Nippon Airways to do the right thing and refuse any further shipments of horses from Canada for slaughter!

The cruelty that you facilitate against horses from Canada for basashi is unfathomable. I am boycotting your airline and airport until you stop air-shipping horses to slaughter. I have encouraged my entire network to boycott you and we are all sharing continuously as an ongoing social media campaign and sharing with the media until you end this. The world is watching you.

Just wanted to say thank you to all who have called, messaged, commented and offered support and condolences during a very tough time.
Nothing brings us all together more than sharing grief over a lost animal. It’s not “just a” dog, cat, horse, to us they are family, sentient beings and bring us more unconditional love than most people!
We have a lot to learn from them ☺️❤️
