🐾 Can You Spot the Early Signs of Stress? 🐾

Most dogs give warning signs before they bite, but these signals are often subtle and easy to miss, especially around children.

A yawn isn't always tiredness. Licking isn't always affection. Repeated yawning, quick licks, blinking, looking away, turning the head, or walking away can all be signs that a dog is feeling uncomfortable or overwhelmed.

When these early signals are ignored, some dogs may escalate their communication to growling, snapping, or biting because their quieter messages weren't recognised.

Teaching children to understand and respect a dog's body language can help prevent situations from escalating and keep both children and dogs safe.

💡 A dog that is tolerating an interaction isn't always enjoying it. Learning to recognise the early signs of discomfort helps us advocate for our dogs before they feel the need to shout.
