With the warmer weather in Devon, adders are becoming more active on moorland, coastal paths, and other countryside areas. While bites are uncommon, curious dogs can get too close and be bitten.

Signs to watch for:
• Sudden pain or yelping
• Swelling (especially around the face or legs)
• Lethargy or weakness

If you suspect an adder bite:
✅ Keep your pet calm
✅ Carry them if possible
✅ Call us immediately

Not all veterinary practices or branches keep antivenom on site, so it’s important to contact us first. We’ll advise you on the best branch to attend and make sure the team is ready for your arrival.
Prompt treatment can make all the difference.

A huge thank you to everyone who attended this year's Modbury Dog Show. It was wonderful to see so many local people and their four-legged friends come together for a day of fun, community spirit and some friendly competition!
Not only was it a fantastic day, but all funds raised will go towards supporting the Modbury May Fair, helping to keep this much-loved local event thriving.
Our team members Claire, Lucy, Maggie, Sophia and Helen had a brilliant time meeting all of the dogs and helping to choose the winners – although we think you'll agree that every dog was a winner on the day!
Thank you to everyone who took part, volunteered, organised and cheered from the sidelines. We loved being involved and are already looking forward to next year!

Warmer weather means tick season is in full swing!
As we spend more time outdoors with our pets, it's important to remember that ticks are more active during the warmer months and can pose a risk to both dogs and cats.
Keeping up to date with your pet's parasite prevention (fleas, ticks and worms) is one of the best ways to protect them all year round – especially as temperatures rise.
So, when was the last time your pet had their parasite treatment? If you're not sure, it might be time for their next dose!
Get in touch with our team and we'll be happy to advise on the best protection for your pet.

Darcy was all confidence when she came into our Modbury branch for her spay procedure recently! Before her operation, she made herself right at home with plenty of cuddles for Vet Jonathan during her pre-operative check-up.
What a brave and beautiful girl!
