⚠️ HOT WEATHER ALERT ⚠️

We are due for some very hot weather over the next couple of days, with temperatures reaching 33 degrees 🌡️

Hot weather can cause heatstroke and burned paws, posing a serious concern to your pet's health. Please follow precautions to keep your pet safe during the hot weather. Here are some tips:

- Make sure your pet stays well hydrated and always has access to water.
- Walk your dog early in the morning or later in the evening, when the temperatures will be cooler. Avoid hot pavements and artificial turf.
- Watch out for signs of heatstroke which include excessive panting, restlessness and vomiting.
- Never leave your dog unattended in a parked car, even for just a few minutes.

If your pet is showing signs of heatstroke, seek immediate veterinary advice.

Please stay safe, and we hope you enjoy the sunshine ☀️

🐾 Meet Mabel 🐾

This cheeky girl visited us recently after getting herself into a spot of mischief. Just as Mabel's owners were about to leave for the school run, they noticed a pound coin had disappeared. A thorough search of the house was done - can you guess what happened to it? 🤔

You've heard of 'my dog ate my homework' - here we have 'my dog ate my pocket money'!

Mabel had indeed eaten the pound coin. Her owner brought her to us, where we induced sickness, and the coin was safely retrieved. Mabel was returned safe and happy to her owner - as was the pound coin (once it had been given a clean!)

Doesn't she look jolly proud of herself? Mabel was an absolute superstar while we took care of her, and had plenty of smiles and tail wags for the team ❤️

Veterinary Nurse Awareness Month - Mental Health & Wellbeing ❤️

Supporting mental health and wellbeing is so important for veterinary teams. Whether it's taking 5 minutes to check in on a colleague, a cup of tea and a biscuit during a difficult day, or a listening ear whenever one's needed, our nursing team are wonderful for supporting one another's mental wellbeing 🤗

With regular team huddles and check ins, a communal mood tracker so colleagues know how one another is feeling each day, and posters in our staff room with resources where the team can find further support, here at M&M we're focused on highlighting the importance of mental health and wellbeing in the veterinary industry ❤️

Recently, our manager Rhi and CCA Hannah joined forces with Wyre Forest Rangers, Enforcement, and Street Scene teams up at Burlish Meadow Nature Reserve for a litter-picking session.

They cleared pathways of litter, chatted with dog walkers, and together as a team managed to clear seven bags of dog poo and litter from the area - a fantastic effort, and what a lovely difference for Burlish Meadow 🙌

Remember, if you spot dog poo on the pathways, Bag It, Bin It. Every little bit helps keep our green spaces clean, safe, and a lovely place to visit 🌿

Well done Rhi and Hannah, and to all the teams involved who dedicated their Saturday morning to tidying up our community spaces ❤️
