Autumn Hazards - ANTIFREEZE!🧊❄️🚗

Antifreeze is deadly to pets, unfortunately even the smallest amount could be fatal💀

As the temperatures drop, antifreeze (ethylene glycol) is often used in cars and garden water features. Sadly, its sweet taste attracts cats and dogs, but it’s highly toxic.

Symptoms of ethylene glycol poisoning:
⚠️ Drunken behaviour
⚠️ Vomiting
⚠️ Weakness or wobbliness
⚠️ Seizures

If you suspect your pet has come into contact with antifreeze, your veterinarian straight away - early treatment saves lives.

❗️ Keep bottles tightly sealed and clean up any spills straight away.

If you have any concerns about potential ingestion call us immediately for advise

Post update....NOW FOUND SAFE AND WELL 🥰 Thanks everyone.

Please keep an eye out for this little dog. She has escaped from her owners' house at 4.30pm today near kidderminster railway station. She is a very nervous dog and will run away if approached so prompt reporting of sightings to the fb page below would be much appreciated if she is seen.
She has been sighted around the main Tesco superstore, but also sightings reported near Broadwaters and St Mary's.
Thanks https://www.facebook.com/share/p/1AjvcoZbjP/

🐾 Parasites! 🍂🐶🐱

As the weather cools down, many people think parasite season is over but fleas, ticks, and worms are still active. In fact, cooler temps can drive parasites to seek warmth… like your pet’s coat or your home! 🛋️

💡 Regular treatment is the best protection
If you're unsure when your pet last had their parasite treatment, or want to check they're covered, give us a call, we're happy to help.

🍁 Do your pets spend less time outdoors due to the colder weather?
🥶 Unfortunately this may result in weight gain!
What’s the risk?
Weight gain can put pressure on your pet’s joints which can increase the risk or worsen arthritis. Weight gain can also contribute to other diseases such as diabetes and cardiac disease.
How to help your four legged friend stay fit:
🏃‍♂️ Short, frequent walks for dogs
🧥 Use dog friendly jackets and coats, especially for older dogs, dogs with short hair or small breeds
🧩 Indoor play or puzzle feeders to keep them active
🥕 Watch portion sizes and limit treats

If you’re unsure about your pet’s weight, please don’t hesitate to give us a call or drop in to speak with one of our friendly nurses!

Check out this cheeky pair in their matching coats🥰
