☀️We hope all of our wonderful clients (both two-legged and four-legged!) are coping well with this heat ☀️

We’ve had a few enquiries about appointments this week, so we wanted to reassure everyone that the salon remains lovely and cool thanks to our air conditioning. In fact, for many dogs, their grooming appointment is probably a welcome escape from the heat for a few hours!

There is absolutely no need to reschedule your appointment if your dog can be transported safely by car. We are operating as normal and are doing everything we can to keep our furry visitors comfortable throughout their stay.

The only exception is if your dog would need to be walked to their appointment. Even though temperatures can vary, pavements and roads can remain dangerously hot, and we would strongly advise against walking dogs down during this heatwave. If that’s your only option, please get in touch and we’ll happily find an alternative appointment.

As always, your dog’s welfare comes first. Stay cool, stay hydrated, and give those pups an extra treat from us!

🐾 Jessica’s Annual Leave Begins 🐾

Just a little update to let everyone know that Jessica’s annual leave has now officially started. She’ll be back as normal on Tuesday 7th July!

Over the next two weeks, please allow a little extra time and grace for any replies or booking enquiries, as we’ll be running with reduced capacity and may be slightly slower than usual to respond

We’d also like to wish the most amazing time off — she truly deserves it after her first full year of being self-employed… and what a year it’s been! From building her diary to growing her client base, it’s been incredible to watch and we’re so proud of everything she’s achieved. Enjoy your travels Jessica — we’ll hold the fort while you recharge!

A huge amount of effective de-shedding actually happens with the dryer, helping to lift and remove loose coat that would otherwise end up all over your floors, furniture, and clothes!

That’s why early desensitisation to grooming equipment is so important. The more comfortable a dog is with the dryer, the safer, less stressful, and more effective the grooming process becomes.

This lovely Rottweiler was visiting us for the very first time at over a year old, and she absolutely smashed it! She took to the dryer brilliantly, staying calm and relaxed throughout her appointment, which meant we could achieve a fantastic de-shed and leave her feeling much more comfortable.

Proof that it’s never too late to start building positive grooming experiences!

Mr Ralph just making sure that we know, that he knows, where the treats are kept after his groom…

Apologies for any delay in responding, our booking system hasn’t been working for a couple of days. It’s now back up and running so we’re taking bookings as normal. We’ve also been a bit quiet on social media on account of the mobile accidentally going through a 90• wash cycle in the washing machine 🙃 Again all sorted so normal schedule has been resumed!

We’re fully booked for June, but talons bookings for mid-July so please get in touch sooner rather than later to avoid disappointment

We don’t make up our schedule recommendations…

Sometimes when a coat has been left too long, the kindest thing we can do is take it all off and start fresh

When matting gets too severe to brush through safely, shaving the coat down is actually the most comfortable option for your dog..  trying to brush or detangle it at that point would cause them real pain and distress, and that’s never something we’re willing to do

There’s no judgement here.. We know life gets busy, it happens more than you’d think

But this is why we always say: little and often is so much kinder than leaving it too long. Regular appointments mean we never have to get to this point.
The good news? The coat grows back. And this time, we can help you stay on top of it

If you’re not sure how often your dog should be coming in, just ask.. we’ll always give you an honest answer

That’s why we take things slowly, introducing equipment at their pace and making every experience as positive as possible. Here, he’s enjoying some reassurance on a lap whilst learning that the dryer and salon environment aren’t so scary after all
