That beautiful Collie coat doesn’t stay healthy by accident

Regular professional grooming isn’t just about making them look beautiful — it’s about removing dead and loose coat, preventing tangles and matting, keeping the skin clean and healthy, and allowing the coat to function as it should.

Keeping on top of grooming also means we can spot changes in the skin or coat early and prevent small problem areas from becoming bigger ones.

And yes
all that fluff you see coming out? That’s exactly why regular maintenance makes such a difference!

Healthy coat. Healthy skin. Happy dog.

If your double-coated breed could use some professional TLC, get in touch to book their next grooming appointment.

Golden Sable Roan perfection in the making đŸ’«

This gorgeous English Show Cocker puppy had her very first introduction to hand stripping, and what a beautiful coat she has to work with!

With sable roans, that natural texture and strong, rich colour are a huge part of what makes the colour so striking — so preserving those qualities is incredibly important. Hand stripping allows us to maintain the correct texture and natural colour rather than compromising the coat by removing what makes it so special.

This was her first stripping session, and some areas of her coat simply weren’t ready to come out yet. And that’s absolutely fine! We never want to force a coat before it’s ready. Patience is key when developing a puppy’s coat, particularly when we’re aiming for a beautiful, natural show finish.

We’ll continue to work with her coat as it matures, gradually establishing the correct patterns while protecting that gorgeous texture and colour along the way.

Have a Show Cocker puppy or a spaniel coat you’re unsure how to maintain? Drop us a message — we’d love to chat about hand stripping and how we can help you achieve the best from your dog’s natural coat.

That’s a wrap for another week!

A lovely week of pampering is officially complete, and we’re heading into the weekend with this cute little face to share!

Just a quick heads-up for next week: Casey is taking a long weekend and will be off on Tuesday, so replies may be a little slower than usual.

Jessica will be in as normal, and will also be in on Monday while she trials some 1-to-1 days ahead of her new working schedule.

As always, thank you for your continued support — we hope you all have a lovely weekend and we can’t wait to see you next week! 💚

A new home, a new start
 and a new look! đŸŸ

This lovely boy has only recently been rehomed, so when he came to us, we had no idea what his previous experiences with grooming, handling or being around people had been like.

That can always make a first groom a bit of an unknown — but Trio has been so fabulous right from the get go.

Despite everything being new to him, he took the grooming process in his stride, allowing us to work with him calmly and patiently while we got to know his individual personality and body language.

When we don't know a dog's history, we never make assumptions. We take things at their pace, watch their signals and give them the time they need to learn that grooming can be a safe and positive experience.

We think he’s doing AMAZING..
But we want to know what YOU think?

We've been experimenting with some longer-form grooming content. Are you enjoying seeing more of the actual grooming process and getting to know our lovely clients?

Would you like to see more?
Or do you have a particular pet you'd love us to film?

Drop a comment below and let us know!

If your dog is happy to be filmed and you'd like to see their grooming session featured, let us know when booking and we'll see what we can do! 🎬

🌭 Walter’s first handstrip 🌭

This little Dachshund mix has a rather interesting coat — part wire, part short — so we’ve deliberately allowed it time to mature before deciding exactly what his coat would need.

And it turns out
 he’s strippable!

Because he has a mixed coat, there wasn’t a huge amount of dead coat to remove on his first session, but he handled the process brilliantly. Removing those longer, unwanted hairs has left him looking super smart and tidy, without those random long hairs sticking out all over the place!

Handstripping isn’t automatically suitable for every wire-haired or mixed-coated dog, which is why assessing the individual coat is so important. Sometimes you simply need to let the coat develop before you can make the right decision.

If you’re wondering whether your dog’s coat is suitable for handstripping, don’t guess — get in touch! We’re always happy to assess their coat and talk you through the options so we can choose what’s best for your individual dog 💚

Send us a message to chat about your dog’s coat and whether handstripping could be suitable for them!

Deposits, No-Shows & Keeping Our Salon Running đŸŸ

A little reminder about why our booking policies matter so much to our small business.

When you book an appointment with us, that time is reserved specifically for your dog. We turn away other appointments to hold that space, and our staff are paid whether your dog arrives or not.

That’s why deposits are required for all appointments. They help protect the time we have set aside for you and ensure that last minute cancellations and no-shows don’t leave us carrying the cost.

Unfortunately, when an appointment is simply missed, we lose the income from that slot while still having to pay our staff, rent, utilities, insurance, products and all the other costs involved in keeping the salon open.

If you no-show an appointment, the full outstanding balance will need to be paid before another appointment can be booked.

We will always ask that you give us at least 48 hours’ notice if you need to cancel or rearrange. We completely understand that sometimes life happens, and we will always try to be reasonable where genuine circumstances arise.

Our policies aren’t about making money from cancellations or punishing anyone. They are about making sure that the time our team spends working is properly paid for and that we can continue to cover the ever-increasing costs of running the salon.

We love what we do, and we want to keep providing your dogs with the time, care and attention they deserve. For that to happen, our business needs to be financially sustainable too.

Thank you to all of our wonderful clients who respect our time, arrive for their appointments and give us plenty of notice when plans change. It genuinely makes a difference 💚

The salon is closed this weekend due to annual leave, both myself and Jessica Mills are away.

Responses between now and then could be slower, with enquiries most likely being dealt with upon return on Tuesday 11th August for myself, and Thursday 13th for Jessica Mills

Have a wonderful weekend đŸŸ

đŸŒ»âžĄïžđŸŽ„ Sorry
 did someone say CHRISTMAS?!

Yes, we know it’s only 1st August. We promise we haven’t completely lost the plot
although judging by the way the salon has just gone from summer to winter in this video, we might be pushing it!

But there is actually a very good reason we’re already talking about Christmas

Our lovely clients are already pre-booking their appointments through to the end of the year, and if your dog is on a regular 6–8 week grooming schedule, you may only have 2–3 appointments left between now and Christmas.

That means those December appointments can disappear very quickly — especially if you need a particular day, time or frequency.
We know Christmas feels a long way away, but this is your friendly reminder to plan ahead and get those appointments booked now rather than finding yourself disappointed later in the year.

So while we may be putting the snowflakes out a little prematurely, there is method to our madness!

Regular clients: check that you have your appointments booked through to Christmas.
Haven’t booked yet? Now is definitely the time to get in touch.
