A little reminder when purchasing a horse: viewing is always strongly recommended.

Yesterday I sold a horse unseen after advising the buyer to come and view him first. The buyer chose not to, completed the purchase and has since changed her mind and withdrawn resulting in a full refund being issued this morning as I’m loading him up to deliver him 2 hours away.

Buying a horse is a significant decision, and while videos, photos and conversations can be helpful, they are never a substitute for seeing a horse in person wherever possible.

To avoid disappointment for both buyers and sellers, please ensure you are completely happy and committed before proceeding with a purchase.

Well Delilah didn’t hang around for long. This beautiful 4 yr old mare sold straight away to her first viewers. This one definitely has a bright future ahead of her and we wish her and her new mum loads of happy memories and fun. X

Bill – 15.3hh, 5-Year-Old Gelding
Northamptonshire

Bill is a lovely 15.3hh, 5-year-old gelding with plenty of potential for someone looking to produce a young horse.

A low-mileage youngster, Bill has recently attended his first show jumping competition where he took everything in his stride. He jumped fillers confidently, showed a careful technique and plenty of scope, and gave every indication that he has a bright future ahead of him with further mileage and experience.

Bill has only recently begun focusing on his schooling and is working nicely in walk and canter. He can be a little fussy in the contact in trot at times, but he is learning quickly and improving with each session. He is snaffle mouthed and willing to work.

He has mainly hacked in company but has also hacked alone, proving to be confident and sensible when out by himself.

A genuine lad, he is good to catch, shoe and bath, and loads and travels well in both a trailer and lorry. Up to date with vaccinations, worming and farrier.

Bill is still young and green, so no novices please. He would suit a knowledgeable home looking for a horse to continue producing and enjoying.

POTENTIAL PURCHASERS

A little reminder that viewing appointments take a huge amount of time and preparation behind the scenes. Today I wasted 2 hours getting three horses cleaned, ready, and presented for a scheduled viewing that unfortunately ended in a no-show with no message.

I completely understand that plans can change, but a quick message is always appreciated. Respect works both ways in this industry, and small courtesies make a big difference.

To all the genuine buyers who do communicate and value the work involved — thank you, it never goes unnoticed.

That’s a wrap for the team chase season now and what a season it’s been! 4 events, 3 placings, one novice and three intermediates. I honestly couldn’t be prouder of these two boys with how far they have come in such little time. A little bit of down time now then Banjo will be looking for his new family.

Today I made my first ever international sale as we waved goodbye to this absolute cracking pony as he headed off to his new home in Norway. We hadn’t even got round to advertising him. I was approached and it all just fell into place. I’m definitely going to miss his little face over the stable door. We wish you the very best in your new home when you get there ❤️
