Happy Piggles Guinea Pig Sanctuary

We received our first secret Santa from The Guinea Pig Secret Santa Project safe to say the piggy’s are very happy. We currently have 26 females, 6 males, and 1 pregnant girl in our care so this massively helps, during the winter months the rescue struggles so much more to raise money and afford vet bills.

I’m absolutely heartbroken to announce that Nutella had to be euthanised today after going into gut status a few days after Night. We are working with the vets to investigate if there is an infection and are in the middle of investigations. They are all on high levels of vit c and echinacea. The young pigs seem to be ok but the older pigs with lower immune systems seem to be coming down with whatever it is.
Sadly we won’t be taking on any guinea pigs until we have answers.
Nutella was the sweetest boy to our resident girls and a real snuggler with people. He will be forever in our hearts. Goodbye my sweet funny boy ❤️

With great sorrow I have to announce that sweet night one of our longest and oldest residents passed away this morning at the vets, she had gone down hill and refused to eat and despite our desperate attempts to help her, her elderly body could no longer fight and gave up therefore we decided it was the kindest thing to let poor night go. She has been a very special part of happy piggles and her memory will forever remain in the heart of us and happy piggles ❤️
