🌸🐾 Cat Clinic Thursday at Love to Paws 🐾🌸

Today was all about the cats — and what a lovely clinic it was. 💜

The gorgeous Frodo started the day and was such a good girl for her full de-shed and hygiene trim. These appointments can make such a difference, especially as we move towards warmer weather and coats begin to shed more. Removing loose coat and keeping hygiene areas tidy helps cats feel cleaner, lighter and more comfortable day to day.

The handsome Thomas also visited today. As an older gentleman, he had some more substantial matting, so the focus was very much on helping him feel more comfortable and gently removing what we could. Older cats can often struggle to keep on top of their coats, especially around harder-to-reach areas, and matting can quickly become tight and uncomfortable.

Cat grooming is beneficial for cats of all breeds, ages and coat types — not just long-haired cats. Regular grooming can help reduce shedding, prevent matting, support skin and coat health, improve comfort and help cats feel their best.

Keeping cats on a regular schedule also means small issues can be managed before they become bigger, more stressful problems. Prevention really is kinder.

🌷 International Chihuahua Appreciation Day! 🌷

Today we celebrate one of the smallest but mightiest breeds in the dog world — the wonderful Chihuahua.

Tiny in size but huge in personality, Chihuahuas are famous for their confidence, loyalty and big-dog attitude. Anyone who lives with one knows they often believe they’re at least ten times their actual size!

These little dogs form incredibly strong bonds with their humans and are full of character, charm and intelligence. Whether they’re curled up under a blanket, trotting proudly on a walk or supervising everything that happens in the house, they always make their presence known.

Even though they’re small, Chihuahuas still benefit from regular grooming and care to keep them comfortable and healthy.

Regular grooming helps with:

🐾 Keeping coats clean and healthy
🐾 Maintaining nail length for those tiny paws
🐾 Checking ears and skin
🐾 Keeping long-haired coats free from knots

🌸🐾 Wonderful Wednesday at Love to Paws 🐾🌸

A full day of grooms, teeth cleaning and lovely dogs in the salon today. 💜

The handsome Lenny started the day, looking fresh and smart after his groom. He was followed by my own gorgeous Marnie, who popped in for her regular wash and fluff — because even the salon dog needs keeping on schedule! 🐾🌸

The beautiful Talia then visited for her final deep clean teeth session, and she has done so well throughout her journey. Emmi-Pet teeth cleaning can be such a beneficial part of a dog’s routine, helping to support healthy gums, fresher breath and ongoing oral care. It is a process rather than a quick fix, and is most suitable for dogs with minimal build-up or those moving into regular maintenance after a deeper clean. 🦷💜

Last up was one of Marnie’s besties, the lovely Fern, who came in for her regular pamper and teeth clean. Keeping teeth cleaning alongside grooming appointments is a great way to stay on top of oral health before bigger issues develop.

May always feels like a month full of colour, fresh air and new life. Flowers are blooming, the days are longer, and everywhere you look there’s a little more brightness in the world.

And it’s a lovely reminder that every pet is beautiful in their own unique way.

Some arrive freshly groomed with silky coats and perfect trims.
Some arrive a little muddy from their latest adventure.
Some are shy and gentle.
Some bounce through the door full of excitement.

But every single one has their own personality, their own quirks and their own special charm — and that’s what makes them wonderful.

At Love to Paws, grooming isn’t about making every dog or cat look the same. It’s about helping each pet look and feel their best, in a way that suits them.

🌞🐾 Terrific Tuesday at Love to Paws 🐾🌞

What a ridiculously busy day in the salon — but full of gorgeous dogs, happy tails and plenty of pampering. 💜

The lovely Rupert started the day with the full works, leaving fresh, smart and feeling fabulous. He was followed by the beautiful Lola and then gorgeous Snowy, both enjoying their pampers and looking lovely for the sunny days ahead.

Max then came in for his first big boy groom with me, and what a superstar he was. It’s always such a lovely moment helping dogs settle into a full grooming routine and seeing them grow in confidence. 🐾✨

Last but not least, the gorgeous Maurice finished the day with his regular nail trim and teeth clean — keeping on top of those important maintenance visits that make such a difference to comfort, oral health and overall wellbeing. 🦷🐾

A very full Tuesday, but a lovely one. 💜🐾

🌷 Favourite Dog Walks Around Sevenoaks & Kemsing 🌷

One of the best parts of living and working in this area is the incredible countryside right on our doorstep. There are so many beautiful places to explore with our dogs — from woodland trails to open fields and peaceful countryside paths.

Marnie and I absolutely love discovering new walks, and we’re very lucky to have some wonderful spots nearby.

A few local favourites include:

🐾 Knole Park – a stunning place for a wander with wide open spaces, ancient trees and plenty to explore.
🐾 Ightham Mote & the surrounding woodland trails – beautiful countryside paths and peaceful walking routes.
🐾 The North Downs around Kemsing – amazing views and lovely longer walks for dogs who enjoy an adventure.
🐾 The Darent Valley paths – scenic riverside routes that are perfect for a relaxed stroll.

For us, the perfect dog walk always includes a little adventure, plenty of fresh air… and ideally a good coffee stop or somewhere for a cold drink at the end. ☕🐾

🌞🐾 Monday at Love to Paws 🐾☔

What a gorgeous way to start the week, with a little sunshine outside and some lovely visitors in the salon. 💜

The beautiful Biscuit began the day with her regular pamper and spa, leaving fresh, soft and feeling her very best. She’s always such a pleasure to have in.

Next up was the handsome Rocco for his pamper and teeth clean. Regular teeth cleaning is such an important part of overall wellbeing, helping to support healthy gums, fresher breath and keeping on top of plaque before it becomes a bigger issue. 🦷✨

The lovely Penny then visited for her regular glow-up, looking absolutely gorgeous and ready for the sunnier days ahead.

And to finish the day, sweet Jet popped in for her nail trim — a small but essential part of keeping dogs comfortable, balanced and moving well. 🐾

A calm, sunny Monday full of care, cuddles and happy dogs.

🌷 Nail Clipping & Paw Pad Care – A Small Service That Makes a Big Difference 🌷

It’s easy to overlook nails and paw pads, but they play a huge role in your pet’s comfort, movement and overall wellbeing.

Both dogs and cats rely on healthy paws every single day — for walking, running, jumping and exploring — so keeping them properly maintained is really important.

Nails that grow too long can:

🐾 Change the way your pet walks
🐾 Put pressure on joints and paws
🐾 Catch and split, which can be painful
🐾 Curl and grow into the paw pad in severe cases

🌷 Happy National German Shepherd Day! 🌷

Today we celebrate one of the most intelligent, loyal and versatile dog breeds in the world — the incredible German Shepherd.

Known for their loyalty, courage and devotion to their families, German Shepherds are truly remarkable dogs. They are often seen working alongside humans in roles such as police dogs, search and rescue, assistance dogs and service dogs, but they are just as wonderful as loving family companions.

These beautiful dogs are famous for their strength, intelligence and trainability, but they also have a softer side — incredibly loyal, deeply bonded with their families and always ready to protect the people they love.

German Shepherds also have dense double coats, which means regular grooming is important to keep them comfortable and their coats healthy, especially as we move into warmer months when shedding can increase.

Regular brushing and grooming helps to:

🌷 Happy National Dog Mum Day! 🌷

Today is a little celebration for all the dog mums out there… the ones whose camera rolls are 95% dog photos, whose washing machine is permanently full of dog towels, and who somehow know exactly what their dog wants just by that look.

Being a dog mum means:

🐾 Talking to them like they’re a tiny, fluffy human
🐾 Planning walks like they’re major daily events
🐾 Moving over on the sofa because they’ve decided it’s theirs now
🐾 And secretly loving every minute of it

For me, Marnie is absolutely everything. She’s my sidekick, my little shadow, my constant companion and the heart behind Love to Paws.

She’s there for the early mornings, the long grooming days, the quiet moments, the adventures… and of course the cuddles at the end of it all. 💜

Dogs have this incredible way of becoming such a huge part of our lives — bringing joy, comfort, laughter and unconditional love every single day.

So today is for the dog mums who adore their four-legged best friends just as much as they adore them back.

What a lovely Friday in the salon to round off the week. 💜

The handsome Lui started the day, looking as gorgeous as ever after his pamper. He was followed by the wonderful Rory, who can find grooming a little tricky at times but is always so incredibly brave — such a special boy.

Last but not least, Danny finished off the day beautifully, bringing the week to a calm and happy close. 🐾✨

A lovely Friday full of patience, fresh coats and gentle Love to Paws care.
