🐰 Sunny was in with us last week for his neutering procedure and is doing wonderfully!💛

Neutering offers a wide range of benefits for your rabbit’s health and overall wellbeing:

✨ Allows male and female rabbits to live together safely without the risk of unwanted pregnancies
✨ Often reduces aggressive behaviours
✨ Can reduce urine marking, as well as sexual and territorial behaviours
✨ Helps prevent some cancers and other serious illnesses later in life

Sunny is already on the road to a calmer, healthier future!

If you are considering neutering your rabbit or have any questions, feel free to get in touch with our team 🐇

🚨 IMPORTANT UPDATE: Travelling to the EU with your pet 🐾✈️

If you’re planning a trip to Europe with your dog, cat or ferret this year, there have been important changes to the rules from 22 April 2026 that you need to be aware of.

👉 New rules from the UK Government mean that EU pet passports are no longer valid for travel from Great Britain to the EU
Even if your pet already has an EU passport, it will no longer be accepted for entry into the EU if your main residence is in the UK.

👉 You now need an Animal Health Certificate (AHC) for each trip

* This must be issued by an Official Veterinarian
* It needs to be completed within 10 days before travel
* A new certificate is required for every trip from the UK to the EU

👉 Good news – once you’re there

* The AHC can be used for up to 6 months for onward travel within the EU and return to the UK, as long as rabies vaccinations remain valid

👉 Other key points

* Your pet must have a valid rabies vaccination
* There is now a maximum of 5 pets per vehicle when travelling non-commercially
* If someone else is travelling with your pet, extra documentation is required

💡 Our advice:
If you’re planning to travel, please contact us well in advance, AHC appointments require time, paperwork, and careful planning to avoid last-minute issues.

Travel with your pet is still absolutely possible, it just needs a bit more preparation than before!

If you have any questions or want to book an Animal Health Certificate appointment, feel free to get in touch 🐶🐱

⚠️ Graphic Photo Warning ⚠️

Nova’s Story - A Life-Saving Surgery 🐾
Nova came to see us recently as she just wasn’t her usual self. After an initial examination, our vets suspected pyometra. An abdominal scan confirmed a large pus-filled structure, and Nova was quickly rushed into emergency surgery to remove her uterus. We’re so pleased to say she is now recovering well and already much happier 💛

⚠️ What is pyometra?
Pyometra is a potentially life-threatening infection of the uterus that affects unneutered female dogs. It can develop rapidly and requires urgent veterinary treatment.

🚩 Signs to watch out for: lethargy, vomiting, loss of appetite, increased thirst/urination, swollen abdomen and in some cases vaginal discharge.

💡 Spaying your female dog not only prevents unwanted pregnancies but also eliminates the risk of pyometra and reduces the risk of other reproductive diseases.

📸 Image attached shows the infected uterus removed during surgery.

🕷️ Tick season is here!

Ticks are commonly picked up in grassy or woodland areas and can attach to both pets and people. Removing them quickly and correctly is important to help prevent irritation and reduce the risk of disease.

Tick Twister removers are now available from reception for £5.45. If you would like advice on tick prevention or how to remove a tick properly, feel free to ask a member of our team 😊

Meet Mollie 🐾💕

This lovely little one popped in to see us today for her full health check, first vaccination, microchip, and flea and worm treatment - a busy but very important visit! 🐾💉

Mollie’s mum signed her up to our Complete Care Plan, which covers all of today’s essentials along with plenty of extra perks to keep her happy and healthy as she grows.
