Sweet senior cat Tash visited us for her routine thyroid blood test today. 💚

After being such a wonderful patient, she enjoyed plenty of cuddles with Nurse Kirsty before heading home. 🐱🥰

Regular thyroid monitoring is so important for cats receiving treatment, helping us make sure their medication is working well and keeping them happy, healthy and comfortable.

✨ Introducing Your New Vet & Director – Dr Cherish Sibbing ✨

Please join us in giving a very warm welcome to Dr Cherish Sibbing as she joins The Ivybridge Vet as our new Vet and Director.

A graduate of the Royal Veterinary College, Cherish has 13 years of clinical experience and is a two-time certificate holder. She is passionate about providing exceptional, affordable veterinary care while keeping our practice independent, family-run and personal.

Although we’re proud to remain a small, friendly practice, we’re packing a big clinical punch.

Cherish leads our dedicated Dentistry & Oral Surgery Service as a Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons Advanced Practitioner in Dentistry & Oral Surgery, helping to bridge the gap between first-opinion practice and specialist referral centres. This means more advanced dental and oral surgery procedures can be performed locally for dogs, cats and small pets, reducing the need to travel further afield.

We’re delighted to have Cherish leading our team and can’t wait for you and your pets to meet her.

Handsome Labrador Trigger wasn’t too impressed about having to miss his breakfast before his castration procedure! 🐾🍽️

The good news? Once he had recovered from his anaesthetic, he was very happy to tuck into a well-earned brunch before heading home.

We’re delighted to say Trigger did brilliantly throughout his procedure and was soon back to enjoying his favourite thing—his food! ❤️

At The Ivybridge Vet, we believe exotic pets deserve the same high standards of care as dogs and cats. That’s why we offer affordable treatment without compromising on quality or safety.

Every anaesthetic is tailored to your pet’s individual needs. Depending on the species and procedure, this may include:
🐾 Placement of an intravenous (IV) catheter for fluid therapy and emergency drug access.
🐾 Airway support, including endotracheal intubation where appropriate, to help maintain safe breathing during anaesthesia.
🐾 Continuous monitoring by one of our Registered Veterinary Nurses, including heart rate and Doppler monitoring.
🐾 Patient warming blankets to help maintain body temperature, as many small pets lose heat very quickly due to their high surface area-to-body weight ratio.

Whether your companion has fur, feathers or scales, they’re treated with the same care, compassion and attention to detail that every patient at The Ivybridge Vet receives. ❤️
