🦴 Dog Nutrition 🌭 - a super important topic that is often overlooked in dog training. As dog trainers, we always look at what is fuelling the behaviour. This could be that it’s being rewarded, it works for the dog, it gets attention etc. But it also could be food. A lot of food contains a high level of carbohydrates as they are cheap fillers for dog food. This energy needs to go somewhere and, often, it can be undesirable behaviours. My tip is to look at the ingredients of your food and see what you are really giving your dog rather than being drawn in by a shiny packet or cute marketing campaign. www.allaboutdogfood.co.uk is a brilliant resource to see what’s really in the food and how it stacks up. 💛 Today we celebrate day! 💛

If you don’t know, dogs wearing yellow need a bit more space than other dogs for a variety of reasons. They could be reactive, in pain, working on training, anxious or anything. By recognising yellow as a sign that a dog needs space, we can create a more understanding and inclusive world for both the dog and the owner.
